Kuroto and Poppy needed at least one bonding two-episode arc. Poppy's sacrifice bringing him to tears was pretty strong since the pandemic wouldn't have occurred much less gotten so bad if he had been actively helpful instead of only dishing out upgrades and cheat codes when it benefitted him; so in a way, his own hubris is what got her "killed". But a little more bonding would have made it a stronger moment.

She did, but I wouldn't say by much. Like it sticks out because before she was nothing but the idol character. There were the episodes where Emu wanted to turn her back, then the Dan episodes and then not much of anything until the penultimate episode.
