Amuro had a pretty traumatic adolescence, but through 0079 and Zeta grew up and moved on with his life, finally finding meaning and a place for himself and heroically sacrificing himself in CCA. Amuro is a hero.
Char never really got over his childhood traumas, spent his life up to UC0080 just trying to get revenge for those traumas, then spend the next 13 years trying desperately to convince humans that they don't belong on their planet of origin. Char is a tragic waste of potential.

Basically. The mechanic/engineer at Anaheim also says it'll take three days to get it battle ready, but the unit is never listed as being down any weapons he was presumably talking about ideally and Amuro and Chan expedited that in some manner despite his estimation. Yes, I'm aware there are versions like the Heavy Weapons Nu, Hi-Nu etc. that have more weapons, but they're always variations, not the actual Nu.
