>Fall in love with a mech design
>It has barely any merch or figures
>What exists is stupidly expensive
What's her name, /m/?
>>15800357
Eureka 7.
The figures and models for LFOs are hard to find and are expensive ;_;
>>15800357
Manga/SvN Shin Getter
Luckily I did get a vinyl statue of the manga version, but it's a little shitty
>>15800386
I recently watched the OVA and I'm surprised seeing the Shaian mentioned.
It was a pretty neat design for sure.
>>15800387
I would say that's fitting, but it would need to be 100% pure shit to match the series it's from
Pretty much anything from Victory and F91.
Funny thing is, I tend to only watch mecha shows if they have high potential for merchandising.
I grew up with Gundam video games such as G Generation and it took 20 years for them to finally release MSV things like GM Cannon and Sniper Custom.
>>15800357
>Fall in love with a mech design
>It has barely any merch or figures
>What exists is stupidly expensive
>Static statue
>Can only be put together by pro modellers
GNX-IV/ELS GNX-IV and Gadelaza.
;-;
>>15800357
Biggest ones are God/Sol Gravion and Rayearth, I suppose. The former have one toy apiece that are not only extremely expensive, they also has the audacity to look like absolute shit
>>15800357
no HGUC, MG, MSiA, Robot Spirits, not even a ver. Ka
>Nothing except 1/5000 LOGH ships
JUST
>>15800386
An El Medine would be fine too
>tfw you will never get your hands on those big ass models from the opening
>>15800357
Vanilla Efreet never gets any love
>RE 100 Xamel when?
>>15800685
It literally has an HG kit
>>15800386
If you squint at The O you can pretend it's ugly evil Shaian from another universe. Though I dunno how The O's doing for kits either.
>>15800914
don't remind me.
How about a fucking ver 2 Dom
BANDAI WHEN
>>15800912
but your naruto efreet
>>15800692
Those big ass models are probably rotting away in some godforsaken warehouse
>>15800426
>tfw no Gunblastor MG
It's not that expensive but it's not delivered to my third world shithole. Why to live?
>>15802601
What does that mean, they refuse to ship it to your country or something?
>>15802604
They use a third party shiping that cost more than the figure itself
>Weltall getting a figure.
>no love for Brigandier.
>>15802608
I know that feel
>>15800394
Wasn't this one of the teased RE/100 kits? I know Bandai's ignoring that image, but there's a still a glimmer of hope.
Gundambabies GTFO, you have so many choices it's disgusting. Don't even compare your snowflake MSV not getting released in X series when there's entire shows like Gorg which go almost completely ignored in this regard
>>15800359
There's 2 action figure lines, model kits, and statues of the characters. They haven't shot up in price with the release of the "new" movie
>>15802601
>Why to live?
To learn better english my 3rd world brethren. Also give middlemanning a try
Please respond, Nitro+
no fucking love
>>15800914
Is that you, Mr. Zeon Flag?
>>15802745
This one really hurts. I want SHFs of Jiban, Janperson, Gungibson, Bill Goldy, etc so badly.
This is going to sound churlish, but Macross. Sure, all your bases are covered for the later series but arguably there's not really a definitive VF-1 yet.
>Yamato figures all have QC issues, or are insanely rare and expensive, or both
>Arcadia figures are more solid and refined, but still based on toolings that are like a decade old and behind the times
>Bandai Hi-Metal Rs are based on a seven-year-old tooling with minor refinements, lots of cut corners and releases are super-inconsistent (earlier versions don't have the neck filler or head ball joint, most recent Hikaru has a blue cockpit for no apparent reason, can't decide on what shades of grey and white to use for movie vs TV, etc)
>Bandai DX Soul of Chogokin announced in 2015 turned out to be vapourware
Meanwhile there's like a million variants of something from Delta that had like two seconds of screentime and is overdesigned as shit, and they're all perfect in every regard.
>>15800386
You can buy a handmade resin kit or figure of it if you look around obscure anime conventions in Japan. One time I saw a pretty nice, painted model of him for only $500, which I assume is reasonable for what it is.
>>15800914
>>15800952
Of course, freaking Bandai is always passing up the THICC suits just so they can remake another skinny-ass Cosmic Era Gundam with too many spikes, edges, weapons, and gimmicks.
Why must they hurt us so?
>>15800952
>>15802899
Hand Over Hecate
>>15800357
The Gaplant Fiver
Also the Hazel Owsla
I'm not a huge fan of feddie-looking mobile suits
Not a huge fan of the design or the colors (lots of white or off-white in GM or Gundam types)
However, I love the Titan's Test Team mobile suits. They look amazing. Also, their names are homages to one of my absolute favorite novels of all time, "Watership Down".
>no figures ever
>>15800918
HGUC
kinda like how the strike has a HG model in it's own line then a HGCE model for the main line.
Sure it's "possible" the Robot Damashii Fafner line will come back, but I'm not hopeful. Not to mention how expensive Sein and Nicht are.
>>15804258
No, that's HGCE. like the new wing stuff is HGAC, G Gundam is HGFC and so on.
>>15800953
>efreet
Also getting EXAM version
I mean come on.
>>15802691
It's not that there aren't any figs of it, it's that most of them aren't particularly good
>Koto kit
> poor movement range
> only Chtuga and Itaqua as weapons
> hair is too heavy for its own good
>Toys Planning figure
> looks like shit, especially the hair that looks like someone etched the details in with a hot needle
> head connection sucks
>A-Label gokin
>crappy proportions
>somehow looks like a plucked chicken
It hurts.
>>15804394
using it for comparison.
or if you want a more accurate comparison, the available g-saviour model is akin to this
Pictured is a fan-made Revoltech figure.
There was an unreleased resin model produced, I wonder if it'll ever surface.
>>15800674
May not be an actual GN-X IV, but it should give you some hope.
>>15804513
i know the guy who did that (commissioned a custom figure paint job).
wonder how much would that figure go at an auction (guess it depends how many MD geist fans are aware of the fig and auction).
>>15804524
They're few but it's a hardcore bunch.
>>15804538
I'm one of them. I'd love to see Sen-Ti-Nel do a figure of the armour based on pic related. Seems like a project that would be in their wheelhouse.
>>15804524
>>15804538
>>15804555
Reminds me, do we have any decent artbooks of the OVAs? A casual check of E-H didn't get me any results.
>>15804555
I know M.D. Geist didn't make much of a splash at all in Japan when it came out but I'm a little surprised there was no kit build publication that had some interest in the designs in it. I guess a designer's length of time working and a title's impact do account for actual reception.
>>15804616
>>15804616
There is a RAR of the Complete Works somewhere. If this thread is still active in a few days I'll post it, it not I'll make a separat thread.
The CPM DVD is loaded with concept art but it's all loaded on as individual videos and because it's all on one disc it's compressed to fuck.
>>15804625
Thanks for the hint. Google pointed me towards a file that contained some of that art.
>>15804408
I have a Duo that's probably old enough to vote.
the plastic on its arms are starting to yellow
>>15804886
Is that the old Bandai Anime Collection figure? How's the articulation on it? Most of the pictures I've seen it and Big O seem like they can't move their knees for shit.
>>15804892
yeah it is (the roger and angel mini figs have long since been lost)
the legs barely move at all, and the arms move about as well as they look like they do in the anime, as to say not much at all
My greatest regret is blowing my cash on that for like 30 dollars in some hole in the wall comic shop, and then on the way out noticing a die cast OVA Giant Robo figure sitting in a bin on clearance for $25, it had like 10 stickers on it of descending price.
by the time i came back a week later with more money it was gone
>>15804908
>a die cast OVA Giant Robo
The Yamato one? It's apparently not very good.
>>15804489
I know your pain.
>>15804931
That was the early 00s late 90s one with the two versions, bazooka and non bazooka or something, right?
I got one of those for $30 when FAO Schwartz went under.
nice enough poseable collectible , takes up a good chunk of desk, don't recall it having anything particularly remarkable about it beyond the weight
Broke an arm on its first tumble, iirc
>>15800357
Not to mention the only decent figure is the gloriously made and super expensive sentinel version.
>>15804522
>those shoulder pads
>that head
>those fucking weapons
>that glorious lower part
but are those...
space/ice skates?i love it
It will never see a model.
It hurts /m/.
>>15806715
I thought they released plamo of some of them?
>>15806720
No Verus though. The Formula is the only one Kotobukiya ever released as a kit. It's also kinda hard to find even living in Japan and for a kit 6000 yen (or more depending on where you see it) is a bit steep IMO. You can get two really solid MG for that much.
>>15806715
All the doll have the same inner frame, don't they? If yout really ambitious you could make a custom for the fromula model.
>>15806727
It would be like rebuilding the entire model as the Verus is rather round and the formula is very angular.
>>15802652
Paint a Gouf red.
>>15806249
That's the one.
It's such a shame that the only good-looking GR figure is a vinyl statue that will never come out.
Alright Bandai I bought the fuckin arcade board where's my HGUC.
All of Shirow's older designs. Early Appleseed and M-66.
You can (kind of) buy an H-Guges, but I've never seen an M-77 even as a custom model.
>>15807497
M-77 does have a garage kit.
