As far as Movie Wars are concerned, after you've finished the previous series and have gotten past around the first quarter of the new series is a good strategy, since the first third of the movie is an epilogue to the previous series. I would have been totally lost if I watched Movie War 2010 during my run through W since I had not seen Decade at that point, though it's not like it'd help that much with understanding anything about Decade.
Heisei Generations is somewhat of an outlier since I could go in there without much of any knowledge of Ghost other than the basics since it integrates the two main focus series together much more smoothly than what is essentially a double feature with a tacked-on crossover at the end.

I wish serious commentaries and interviews involving KR were a thing. Then we could find out if Kuroto coming back as the team's indentured inventor was always in the cards of if Tsukuru was going to fill the role of the team's Gashat maker and Upgrade developer. The guy just kind of vanished after making MMX and I thought it would be revealed that he was the person (unwittingly) crafting Tokimeki Crisis and Taddle Legacy for the baddies since besides Kuroto he was the only man who had the know-how to create something close to a functioning Gashat.

What Banno lacked in fight scene quality, he made up for by basically beating the shit out of everyone while being a hilarious psychopath and required an actual miracle of a form to stop him. Masamune's taken a few too many beatings to come out as imposing. A bad motivation can only work if the characters incredibly fun. They're over the top in personality, have good fight scenes, are very blunt to their rivals etc.

The saddest thing out of all of this is that "Pre-Neo" Heisei Final Bosses aren't that great either aside from a few of the early ones.

It's not that it's slower, it's that they work in different ways. Cronus' Pause freezes everything in a game area, and the suit has measures to protect against that. However it doesn't have anything to protect the user from Heavy Acceleration.

However, this does lead to a worst case scenario where they both use their powers, and are trapped together in this frozen game area stuck in the middle of a Super Heavy Acceleration.

I'll take Urobuchi messing up how much the viewers were willingly to sympathize with Sagara over Ryuki's meandering middle and complete mishandling the battle royale premise outside of the last 10 episodes.

During most of the show the extra Riders were basically all self contained to their own arcs, and then after the recap there were more than 10 episodes with only the 4 main Riders and sometimes Odin.

Gaim's whole build up and escalation also was just very unique. Even Ex-Aid which seemed like it could become comparable as far as escalation goes eventually stumbled with Kamen Rider Chronicle.
