Newtypes are rare as fuck and the tech for even stuff like INCOM is expensive and hard to use. Focus shifted to stuff the average pilot could use rather than super prototypes that only a handful of pilots can use. So instead of stuff like funnels that rely on psycowaves or INCOM that relies on a skilled pilot you get stuff like the biocomputer.

By the time of F91, no one really cares about Newtypes anymore. The term is thought to mean someone is a natural pilot, not that someone has paranormal activities.

There should be a UC equivalent of the Particle Bit System used in AGE. That shit should be much more energy-efficient and can produce many more over-the-top and confusing way of attacking the enemy.
Is the Rafflesia really the pinnacle of Funnel tech in UC to be honest? It doesn't even use any real funnels.
