Since me trying to lie about being a newfag to /m/ would be obvious and serve only to potentially irritate I'll just be blunt.
I like big stompy mecha, mostly from video games, and am looking to get a good foundation on what anime to watch to broaden my horizons and indulge in my enjoyment of large robots.
I like military scifi with more of a realistic aesthetic. Not to say I don't like kung-fu robot fights, just prefer stuff that feels more like mobile weapons platforms and not space robot samurai.
You guys have a /m/ guide to mecha to start me on my path?
Sorry for obvious newfaggory. I shall resume lurking. Thank you for your time.
Watch VOTOMS and Armour Hunter Mellowlink.
Gasaraki has probably the most realistic mecha I can think of
