The first episode of GX is so magnificently over the top and and ridiculous that it blew me away and then every episode after is like Chinese water torture where they did the worst thing they could do time and time again.

They introduced super strong new bad guys who just clowned the Gears every episode, making it feel very samey and like no progression was happening.
Instead of overcoming the bad guys by getting stronger it turned out the bad guys were LITERALLY jobbing and wanted to lose.
Hibiki's character development did a 180 so she could have some retarded unnecessary dad drama which went on for like half the show, in a show already pressed for time.
Every other character got completely sidelined in favor of this, so they got 1 episode at best to themselves and that 1 episode was always rushed as fuck because of it.
The main antagonist's plan was stupid as fuck and basically some butthurt 8 year old throwing a thousand year long destructive shitfit.
Even the fight choreography was terrible with characters just fucking standing around when they were all together and nothing was really synced to the music.

Carol is fucking stupid. Why the shit did she send the doll with the philosophical weapon to break swords against the two sword girls if she needed to have then sing two of the six songs to end the world? how the hell would they do that since one touch would break their gears a second time?
The only way the plan could work is if Carol fixed Tsubasa's existential issues, but wouldn't the sword be better to have as a containment weapon for when the final plan is put in action? What do you guys think of AXZ music-wise, so far?
My opinions below.

At first I thought AXZ was somewhat below-par compared to previous seasons, in terms of how good its songs are.
But now I think, it's just that this time around, FIS battle songs are really amazing,
while the main trio battle songs only somewhat work due to the good choreography with the anime (read: memorability of scenes gets one used to them); the songs themselves not actually that good.

I think this song's lyrics really work because we've actually seen confident Maria in G, it being just a strong front notwithstanding.

Hanasana Yuuki is the best Hibiki B-track barring Rainbow Flower. Makenai Ai is cool too but nowhere as good as G-Beat.

Stand Up! Ready is rad, keeping up a consistent 3 for 3 good Maria A-tracks. Stand Up Lady isn't really my thing though, not my preferred style of music.

Tsubasa's tracks are alright, I didn't give them too good of a listen but I didn't notice anything jarring about them.

I'm in the opposite opinion where I really like Gun Bullet XXX, but then again I didn't care at all for Chris's GX songs. We better get an Utazukin OP in one of the Zesshoushinais

The DMJii songs are improving, which is good since they started off kinda meh in G and picked up in GX. Happy Smile Vacation is cute but the novelty wears off after a while. I haven't listened to Draft Folder since I wait for CD Rips

Both trios are cool. Nowhere near as good as Radiant Force but definitely an improvement on Arigatou Wo.

Sorority is the best trio song as of yet and Ignite infinity the best ignite song. The other songs are all weaker than previous songs by their character but non of them are bad.
The biggest gripe i have sound wise is the lack of good background songs added in AXZ. It feels to me that they are mostly reusing the OST from previous seasons, especially GX.

The fact that the first episode is so good gets your expectations up only to completely and utterly crush them the moment the alca-Noise show up and ruin everything.

Villains with incredible designs that further raised expectations are completely and utterly wasted as alca-Noise take up budget for absolutely no fucking reason after the Noise already got an incredibly satisfying conclusion to their existence in G. Choreography goes down the shitter as they have to try and fit in fighting an extremely overpowered opponent while also taking out Noise, and they drag everything out immensely as the Gears have to all systematically get beaten on top of further dragging shit out in order to hit G-style cliffhangers, which this time instead of being exciting and a cherry on the cake of the episode's hype, instead act as a constant blueball because they purposefully halt progression for ages at a time.

Then after an actually super cool bit (even with alca-Noise fucking it up) where they beat down Carol and you think shit is finally going to go somewhere, she kills herself which is immediately suspect. Then come the super formulaic character episodes with retreaded garbage all drawn out even fucking more than the first part of the show, with no excitement at all. The reveal that they've been purposefully losing comes and Carol comes back. Ver shows up and is amusing for a bit but it's then fucked up more by Top Dad being shoved in and holy fucking christ Hibiki's "character arc" in GX is the worst god damned thing I have ever seen in my life.

Fighting Carol the second time is utterly uninteresting. The FIS song is hype and probably the only good part of the finale set of episodes because they fucking reuse G's X-Drive song. They really couldn't come up with something new? The X-Drive episodes are meant to be the exciting finale of their season and they didn't even try. Shirabe and Kirika's UFO is great I guess. Glorious Break is used all Power Rangers style and isn't even the OP, did I mention Carol's a waste of a fantastic character design too? Her plan was utterly retarded and even she realizes this at the end.

More or less it raised expectations through the roof and had so much potential that it squandered and burned that it wound up being even more of a frustrating shitheap than it would have been already as an episodic mess that could have been done in half the episodes without them meandering to generate cliffhangers and artificially separate character development to encapsulated moments.

The show was suffering from some pretty bad original ideas way before the swimsuit episode, though. Here, this dead horse can still take a bit more of a beating, so I'll go over a few more:

Ignite was a mistake. The whole gimmick of the Symphogears is that they can change into just about anything as long as it fits their theme. Giving them a powered-up mode means that if they aren't using Ignite, they aren't fighting seriously yet and thus the opponent can't actually be that dangerous. It's like how you have to use Super Saiyan all the time once you have it; you can't not use it and keep tension in the fight because we know you'd win if you went Super Saiyan.

Relatedly, SONG keeps using Ignite even when it's an obviously terrible idea. Carol's entire plan hinges on them blindly trusting Elfnein, letting her install a new function into their Gears based off a cursed evil sword, then using that function to kill all of the dolls without ever trying anything else. They just straight-up forget that zesshou exist. One of those could probably kill Micha or Larry, and that would ruin Carol's entire plan right then and there.

That same line from Garie, incidentally, ruins all possible mystery and tension for the entire rest of the season because she declares the entire plan. What follows is a bunch of formulaic episodes of which only Tsubasa's is any good. "Good" maybe isn't the right term: it's absolutely retarded, but it's the fun kind of retarded that I would expect from Symphogear. Everything else is entirely forgettable and built on the shallowest of character development.
