Favorite melee weapon you like a mecha to have?
Mecha with axes are fucking SAVAGE
I like mecha with some sort of hand gimmick. Ie. Burning hands, giant fists or a giant claw
I'm keen on hammers or other things that crush stuff.
>>15745775
I like robots that do martial arts so it's gotta be just plain ol fists for me, hand gimmicks like >>15745807
said are great too
drills are a good runner up
>>15745775
Rocket-propelled drill hammer.
>>15745775
Motherfucking lances although I've yet to find a show I enjoy that features such a machine.
>>15745915
Robots and drills are the best combo
>>15745775
>>15745775
There is absolutely no better melee weapon for a mech than a fucking pilebunker
Lances for high-speed skewering.
>>15745967
For a Rank D borg I sure as hell kicked a disproportionate amount of ass with it. Even the Galactic Emperor had some trouble dealing with me.
>>15745961
There's one I know of
I mean, his finishing move is still the Sun Attack, but the Daitarn Javelin is pretty much his main weapon otherwise

My brothers.
I'm more of a shining finger kinda guy if you ask me
>>15746285
same buddy
>>15745976
>>15745993
I see you are /m/en of culture too.
How about an oversized putter?

Even better a drill lance.
>>15746373
>Giant robot golf
I never knew how much I wanted this until now.
>>15745775
Agreed.
The axe is a very special weapon. Kill a man with a gun, with a knife, with a lead pipe, or a rope, you're just a murderer.
But if you kill him with an axe, you're an AXE MURDERER.
No other weapon gets that.

My brethren!
Swords are also cool on mechs, especially if they're ridiculous in size ratio to the mech

The lance canons from Fafner.
Nothing is more satisfying than stabbing an enemy and then having that thing open up and blow them apart inside out
>>15745775
I like long straight swords.
>>15745775
Whip chains.
Greatswords, pilebunkers, jousting lances. In no particular order.
>>15745775
>dual wield axes
>drill kick
>wrist pile bunkers
This is why the Graze Ein is one of my favorite MS is all of Gundam. It's a large-frame MS designed for CQB.
>>15745775
Not really a melee weapon itself, but Jetstream Sam's scabbard was a pretty nifty idea.

The pickaxe from the Scharfrichter is neat.
I'd like Scythes too if they were used by anything other than the super edgy XxX_Gundam Deathscythe_XxX
>>15745775
Anything with rockets and/or guns attached to them
>Rocket axe
>Rocket hammer
>ROCKETTO PANCH
>Gunlance
All time favorite though is Big O's pile bunker fists, and pile bunkers in general.
How the fuck did the Jegans and Heavyguns, who had fucking beam rifles, get fucking rekt by the Crossbone Vanguard shot lancers? I understand that the CV used the shot lancers because they did not want to set off mobile suit reactors inside the colony, but wouldnt beam rifles have a huge advantage in terms of range???
>>15749584
Most colonies are only 30 km long, 5 km in diameter. Ballistic weapons would be effective-enough. The advantage of beams is more effective in space, where targets can be dozens of miles apart.
Are there any mechs that use maces? It'd probably the most practical melee weapon for a mech since it's all about smashing up thick armor.
>>15749584
The CV suits were smaller, i.e. harder to hit, and had a significant advantage in specs. They also had the advantage of surprise, immediately forcing the colony's defense force into close combat where their beam weaponry wouldn't give as much of an advantage.
>>15749584
the feds are played off as inept idiots who have been made toothless by decades of peace, while the crossbone vanguard are supposed to be highly motivated and well-trained
>>15749601
The Barbatos Gundam has used a giant mace several times.
>>15749601
>>15749601
Mace you say?
>>15749722
>>15747424
I bought that game, it's awful.
>>15749798
that sucks. there is a huge lack of good sports games out there with decent theme
Spiked punching shields.
>>15749584
A combination of the beam shields and general agility made actually getting a good hit in on the CV suits a task stuff like the Jegan's and Heavygun's couldn't handle.
>>15749601
Barbatos was all about macing things except that one short stint it had with hanzo steel. The Barbatos deserved a better show and a better pilot.
