Is there any mech that is a bigger jobber than the Kampfer? Fucking thing takes one burst of Alex's built in arm gun and goes down like a bitch. A gundam that has no weapons and is later taken out by a zaku btfos this suit
>>
>>15743227

The Wing Gundam and Gundam AGE-3 Orbital at the very least, since one jobs repeatedly while the other is a main characters unit that is defeated with little to no fight on it's first outing.

>>
>>15743227
Did you not pay attention to the show? They explicitly said that the Kampfer doesn't have much armor and was built just to do a quick assault
>>
>>15743227
The Kamfer takes out 3 GM commands, 2 MP Guncannons, and 2 of /m/'s favorite meme suit the GM Sniper II before it runs out of ammo and gets killed by the Alex because Mikhail didn't know about the arm vulcan. Pretty good for a "jobber."
>>

>Fucking thing takes one burst of Alex's built in arm gun and goes down like a bitch.
If don't think that was the hypest shit then you could just get the fuck outta my face. The Tristan tries tho do that in the Twilight Axis novel but gets btfo lel
>>
>>15743469
Also lack of fuel storage so it has next to no staying power as well.

It was designed to do a quick raid, wreck as much shit as possible, and then get out before the enemy can respond. And even then it did pretty damn well against an entire MS complement from the Pegasus-class carrier that was docked in the colony.

The real question would be which group of Fed suits jobbed the hardest in UC
The ones in 0080,Unicorn or F91?
>>
>>15743582
Probably 0080. The Jegans were grossly outdated in F91 so they kinda have an excuse whereas the Scarlet team had brand spanking new suits and both sides job in Unicorn to varying degrees.

Still, in 0080 we see a few GM's destroying some Rick Doms and Zakus
In F91 they can't even scratch the paint from the CV suits
I legit wonder how Cosmo Babylon lost that war
It felt like a single grunt could solo 30 Jegans and Heavy Guns without breaking a sweat
>>
The GM Sniper II was meant to suffer as a great unit in side material and games, but job in animated material like 0080 and the K9 in Build Fighters.
>>
>>15743562
While the GMs in 0080 are the kings of jobbers, it bugs me that they're also deployed falling down towards the colony, meaning they can't fire their weapons without hitting civilians and/or buildings. So it's not just incompetence, but also incompetent management.

They were suffering a pretty major handicap compared to somebody who will fire away without concern.
>>
>>15743684

It looked like they only had ballistic weapons so collateral damage would be relatively low.
>>
>>15743582
Towards the late 80s, they certainly tried to get the Feds a few more kills despite Feds jobbing 90% of the time.

War in the Pocket had the Cold Climate GMs killing a Hygogg, and in F91 the had the Federation fleet stage a surprise volley while killing civilians.

Unicorns had the least jobbing, from both sides. On the Feddie side you had the Byarlant dunking on the Zeon remnants and the Stark Jegan nearly killing off Marida, while on the Zeek side you had the Efreet Schneid being an edgelord and Yonem Kirks killing off guys with his Zaku 1 sniper. You can give Unicorn a lot of shit, but it gave a lot of cool moments to the grunt suits.

Blame that all on Major Stuart. Then he went on to become captain of the Thoroughbred and the Phantom Sweeps in 0081. Don't worry he was still in incompetent leader.
Too bad for the Thoroughbred though. It went from that captain to a chickenshit captain that takes orders from Gopp in MSV-R

Yeah you right, with the tech specs calling it a beam javelin. But the way it's describe sounds like an updated version to the twin-beam spear though:
>A triple beam saber with long pole handle.
>>
>>15744043
Spears are just knives with long handles
>>
>>15744059
Knives are just spears with short handles.
>>
>>15743227
It died after it destroyed an entire carrier's complement of MS's though.
>>
>Weapon racks were designed to be ejected from the unit as they were expended, minimizing dead weight.

How fucking expensive was it to run a single sortie with this thing? I guess they chose beam sabers to reduce the footprint of the melee weapon over an axe. I guess they charge it before the sortie and don't draw extra power during the sortie unless they need to as they have 2 of them so double battery life on them.

How long does it take to refuel/recharge a battery? And how expensive were the weapons and hard points? The Kampfer carries 6 disposable weapons on 5 hard points to reduce the reload time by not carrying any extra ammo so it only has 30 shots per sortie (9 rounds per shotgun, 5 for each bazooka, 2 Sturm Faust).

And? Rick Dom, Zakus, and GMs were all developed in the same era. Hell, even within the same year or two. Jegans were 30 years old by the time they tried to fight off the CV suits, which were brand new at the time.

>>
>>15745203
It's a OYW suit (before reactors became powerful enough for widespread usage of beam weaponry) explicitly designed for special operations. The Kampfer's loadout is intended to enable it to cause extreme destruction in a short period of time, before it must either withdraw or is destroyed. For such a specialized machine, unit cost of its weapons probably wouldn't be a huge problem - especially if the suit itself can be used as a one-shot "silver bullet" for a Zeon commander.

>>
>>15747139
Grunt MSs can't fight newtype remote weaponry, once it shot all of it's long range weaponry the best option was to close to melee and hope for a lucky quick kill, because trying to duel at long range was suicide,

basically it was super low chance of success vs zero chance of success
>>
>>15743722
That Stark Jegan pilot is a glorious bastard. I knew he was going down the entire time but I was really rooting for him. I love the little moments in Unicorn when the grunts prove any mobile suit can be dangerous and shouldn't be taken lightly in case a badass is at the controls.

Gotta wonder how much different later fights would have gone if that guy had survived trying to solo Marida and been around for the later Nahel Argama battles. All their other faceless pilots seemed to mostly be green, only the ones with names were any good.
>>
>>15743722
Man, scenes like this were ones that made me love Unicorn... that and the OST. Seeing animated proof that the pilot is more important than the machine in deciding most fights was great, and made some of my runs in Federation vs Zeon's campaign mode feel so much more correct (what do you mean, my Zaku II can't destroy five RX-79(G)s in one battle)...

So much Grunt MS love in that series...

>>

That's a mook, not a jobber. Jobbers are established bad-asses that get rekt by a bigger bad-ass to prop them up.
>>
>>15748511

That wasn't in a space battle, it was in a colony interior battle though. The GM Commands with the red chests were for space, grey chests for colony interiors but they could operate in space just not as well as the Space Types.
>>
>>15748495
That's what I liked about playing Zeonic Front. Stupidity and carelessness would get you raped by superior suits, especially Gundam types, but it wasn't impossible to out maneuver them.

Except that one mission where you have to scout White Base and Amuro is a goddamned terrifying monster.
>>
>>15748547
There's only two Gundams to worry about, Ground Gundams go down in one shot to the back like any other MS. Most Ground Gundams don't even pack beam rifles
>>
>>15747236

Crimson Typhoon was more of a fail than Cherno

Cherno could at least argue it's an old piece of shit, Typhoon just straight up failed
>>
>>15748547
Hence, "White Devil".
>>
>>15748576
It's been a long time but I think I was mainly thinking about the Mudrock Gundam. The Ground Gundams are just grunts in disguise.
>>
>>15748654
Well the Midnight Fenrir encounter it twice, one time it doesn't have a beam rifle so its just got tough armor the second time is the most dangerous since now its hovering and is using a beam rifle, a lot of mission failures because it destroyed all the allied tanks.

Ground Gundams are more like elite grunts, they do have better armor and sensors and the ones that do carry a beam rifle can ruin your day.
>>
>>15748547
I want a series where you follow a bunch of shit tier grunts across a bunch of battles but they all get raped and killed by a gundam.
There need to be more pieces of media where the Gundam is a faceless demon.
>>
>>15748694
Yeah, stuff like Amuro doing his sadistic counting while your bros are just dropping like flies is horrifying.

We got a small taste of it in Thunderbolt S1 I think, specifically that first person perspective scene where the Full Armor Gundam is just taking the helpless Zaku apart.
>>
>>15748511
A Command kills that Cyclops Unit member at the beginning of 0080 on Earth.

Space Command gets a few kills in 0080.

>>
>>15748761
That was a Cold Climate type that downed a Hygogg
A ground-type Command blows up some fuel stacks (along with a zaku fz, itself and likely some civilians) and one of them shot down Bernie off screen, so I guess that counts for something.

This guy performed incredibly well since his MS was completely retarded. It was a ground use MS with no thrusters at all that depended on those wires and other MS puling it to get around. And they didn't give it any ranged weapons, just the chain mines and those shields. The fact that it landed on the ship and got to hit anything at all was a fucking miracle.

The Kampfer gets used again, and it's not a jobber MS. It's kind of weird to see it used exclusively in space rather than under gravity, but it works and works well despite it relying often on jury-rigged parts somehow (as it's post-OYW and there's obviously no new Zeon production for late war experimental Zeon MS like the Kampfer).
That's more or less it. It's also piloted by a fuccboi dickass, but that's hardly an issue of the MS.

That's a jobbing; the grizzled veteran and the advanced new kid get taken down in moments. Monster established as badass.
