It's Nu-sized. It's huge, but not Psycho Gundam huge. I don't think the transformation is overly complex for a statue, it doesn't have to move as much as an MG or PG model does. The shoulders have to slide out, the spine has to extend, the thighs have to lengthen, and the hips have to widen. Those are all one-axis movements. The rest is part based and not super structural.

I want to know how they're going to do the psychoframe. Yeah sure they could just light it up red, but exposed psychoframe has this sort of "sizzling" effect to it.

Unicorn and all the other new designs from that show are overdesigned clusterfucks, it'd look better without the dumb space magic transformation and all the panel lines from said transformation removed, but the whole fanbase would shit their diapers and start crying because it'd mean no V-fin/samurai face or bright colors.

Nah. The Unicorn is pretty much the image of "modern" UC now and what Gundam is today. The RX-78-2 was the representative of the "old" UC era.

I'm mightily impressed and I don't even like Gundam UC. Maybe this statue will rekindle my fondness for the design before the anime ruined it. Remember when we didn't know anything about the story, and Unicorn was just this giant white marble statue that represented the the idea of Gundam? Remember when it was an icon, before it became a cheap power fantasy and plot device?

They're doing that because the original is getting preferential treatment in breaking new ground.
The idea is to make it able to walk, then display it next to Unicorn, if the concepts are to be believed.
