If it was remade as an OVA series with Unicorn style budget, where they took the time to develop the characters then sure.

I'd just be happy if we had more Amuro, Beltorchika, the Nu Gundam and keep the Sazabi, the Nightingale looks too much like a crab. Char's character development can be handled in the same way whichever book has Amuro calling Char out for being a massive dick (which he kind of does in the movie but it's more of a throwaway line there).

In an ideally ideal world we'd follow the route that leads us straight to Hathaway's Flash

I don't recall anyone actually liking Beltorchika, honestly. When people talk about Amuro's love interests they usually mean Sayla, which only happened in the manga anyway.

I just think the entire thing needs to be remade, period. There is not a single Gundam fan that got to the end of CCA and thought "Wow. That really wraps it up. Good stuff."

Universally, the thought is "What?? That's it? Seriously? And wtf did they mean by...?"

It never deserved to be the conclusion to the series. Gundam deserved a movie that tied everything together and brings in the characters and designs from MSG, Z, and ZZ in a meaningful way. All of these pointless last minute additions like Quess, Chan, Kayra, Gyunei, etc. should go back to the anus the studio pulled them out of. I'm not sure adding in the stuff you propose would be enough to fix this wreck.

Honestly, the only part that feels weird is how Char just appears as le super eebil bad guy with no explanation.
The beginning and the very end (cause no real epilogue) of CCA are the only parts that feel cramped.

Once you get into the swing of it it's a fairly comfortable film.
My major complaint is all the time wasted on Quess. Hathaway didn't bug me to nearly the extent, until he killed Chan REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

lol; i mean in a way you could argue that it was subversive. so much time has passed that you barely know anybody anymore, except Amuro and Char. the sacrifice of the main characters, while almost mythical/magical in nature, is at the same time awkward and abrupt.

but really i just think they fucked up. that's just my personal guess about the situation. you don't have to give the people everything they want, but they deserved more than they got.
