Is there a name for this old style of pop music that's used in older shows like Mazinger Z and Cutie Honey? Is it just older J-pop? I really like the dramatic feeling to the vocals.

2 of them are Isao Sasaki, but Macross is
Makoto Fujiwara. If you pay attention to Sentai, Sasaki also did the JAKQ opening. Plus Getter Robo, Yamato 2199, and a shitload of other shows.
