The varying ages for rangers is one of the better things about the show that you don't see often. Kotaro is youngest, Balance is oldest (due to him opening a box that made him age). If you ignore that joke then I guess Tsurugi would be next at 300+ years.

As far as traditional ages go, Xiao is probably in his late 40s.

Goggle V pretty much has the same aesthetic as Sun Vulcan, although slightly less frenetic IMO. Deathdark also doesn't have anyone nearly as fun to watch as Queen Hedrian, though I do like Deathgiller.

There are also single episodes that I REALLY liked. Like for example, the tanuki episode was a comedy masterpiece as far as I'm concerned.

The Azteckaiser comparison is a little weird though. Going off from the episodes from SHS I saw a long while back, it was a very 70s kind of show with animated wrassling thrown into the mix. Not even the other experiments Tsuburaya did to mix animation and live-action were really like it.

If Garu is 35 how old is Lucky. Garu better not be going full pedo with that "The man who won me over" line earlier.

If there's one other thing in Goggle V that I think is a downgrade from Sun Vulcan it's that Goggle Yellow's fights just aren't as fun to watch as VulPanther's despite the suit actor being the same.

I'd disagree with >>15730167 and say it disappears around halfway through the series when Gai and Kaori finally stabilize as a couple. You'll know it when they do that episode where the guys fight in the swamp as Kaori and Ako try to calm them down (which was where I think that pic with Maria posted above comes from, come to think of it)

The episode after that is when they finally stop infighting as much and they do their proper rollcall for the first time in the series, I think. A lot of the latter episodes either deal with shit like the people who give them their new mech, neo-jetmen shit, or tranza/grey shenanigans

The love subplot also disappears until they decide to break Gai and Kaori up as well, and Ryu and Kaori don't even interact all that much until the ending decides to tell us they're getting hitched

There's a lot about Goggle V that made me think that what Soda wanted to do and what the producers wanted were two different things. You don't come up with an ancient civilization/gemstone/rhythm gymnastics motif because you think all of those things mix together perfectly.

Dynaman is a much better show by comparison, with just about everything being an improvement. Even little things that were introduced in Goggle V like team's named being called out in the opening credits and the multicolored explosions were better here.
