Going by Novelization standards, it apparently is implied that Puru may have been created using the same cloning method used to make Glemy. Where Glemy was created using using all of the dominant genes from Gihren, Puru was apparently created by using all of the dominant genes of the actual daughter of the Toto family, who had apparently passed prior to the One Year War from medical issues. Given the Toto families service to the Zabi family in raising Gihrens illegitimate son, they were formally given the chance to escape to Axis, which Glemy, his mother and the infant Puru were taken on.

Puru would eventually be discovered to have natural newtype potential from the staff at Axis, leading to her being eyed by the Flannagan Newtype breakoffs who escaped to Axis. The Matriarch of the Toto family, sharing very little love for her own daughters copy [due to Puru having completely dominant traits from the original, she looked completely different physically, thus leading to her viewing the child as "another obligation from the Zabi family to raise".] she agreed to hand the child back over for research purposes. Meanwhile, Glemy Toto would continue to be raised quietly in Axis, until his mother would tragically pass from "unknown" causes. Following her death, Glemy would enlist into the Axis militia to support himself, and his nation. During this time however, Glemy was informed of the cloning research used to create Puru and was offered a chance to take her back into his care. Accepting, Glemy would become Puru's legal guardian, though he had other intentions for Puru, not viewing her as actual kin.

From what I can gather, the cloning procedure was done the same way it was for making Glemy, meaning the naturally flushed out undesirable traits, thus leading to differences in hair, eye and body structure.

Gihren= Naturally grayed in his 20's, not sure on eye color, physically showed signs of degrade in his 30's, most likely a carry over from Degwins gene pool.
Glemy= Blond haired, Blue eyed, physically prime condition.

Toto daughter= Unknown traits, but born from natural means. Apparently suffered from multiple disorders at a young age. Apparently looked completely different from how her clone came out.
Puru= Auburn hair, Blue eyes, prime physical condition. Disorders from original completely flushed out and removed.

Given the very strict breeding laws on Axis and how very few children were actually around, I'd imagine Minevia would be rather overjoyed to have someone within her own age range to talk with, not just being limited to Haman [Who she truly did love like a mother, but those emotions festered in hatred by the time Char kidnapped her mid-ZZ] or to Char [Who even though she respected the hell out of him, she realized herself that he was an insane manchild]. This is a big apparently, but the novelization gets into the idea that Glemys intentions for Minevia was to have her captured, used a figure head to turn Core 3 against Haman, then marry her to occupy the Zabi family name himself. From that point on, after using Rakatans plan to bombard the entire surface of Earth in nuclear warheads from mass drivers across Luna 2 and forcing the Federation and its people into collapse, she would be kept under strict house arrest until she capable of producing an hier, then using said hier, use it as a way to eternally soldifiy himself as the true resurrection of the Zabi family. With himself as the patricarch of the new Zabi bloodline, and also having influence over the families of the highest ranking staff in his new world order (Had planned to use the Puru clones as Officers wives), he would have no one to oppose his family name ever again, ensuring his eternal reign.

From what I can recall from both Unicorns OVA and Novelization, Puru 12 had been impregnated multiple times, with the fetus being stopped prematurely over and over again each time.

While it seems only like the first time in the OVA where she is being operated on, apparently the group that owned Puru 12 had done that song and dance multiple times and decided that the cost of constantly getting her aborted was not worth the loss in income and just requested carving out the womb to nip the issue in the bud once and for all. They get there star underage sex slave without much of the maintenance cost.
Kind of a shame those potential fetus's were aborted however, the potential of them being genuine newtypes was quite high, along with the Puru's being designed as gene incubators themselves would have created some interesting creations.

The other Puru's had the honor and pleasure of dying before seeing the horrors of the world, innocently being devoured into the hellfire of warfare at axis. 12 lived long enough to see herself be broken, both on the physical and spirtual level. For all accounts and purposes, the OVA version of Unicorn is the canon version of the story (for better or worse at times.) With this said, whatever the OVA stated would be the final say in what happened. Just to note some diffrences from the OVA to Novel of Unicorn...

1. One of the Federation Tri-Star pilots is killed near the end of the book. Using his soul to guide Banager, he is able to defeat Angelo, who's fate is left unknown in the novelization.
2. The Earth arc of Unicorn in the Novel takes places in Dakar, with Loni's father and his multiple sons attempting a revenge jihad against the Federation for its mass slaughter of his people in Dubai many years prior. the Islam Zeon factions from ZZ is outright mentioned, giving that whole plot line from the novelization some slight leverage, though it might just be the author choosing to not dance around the subject matter like ZZ's animated version did.
Funfact: In the novelization, Banager has the balls to take the shot to destroy the Shamblo.


3. Full Frontal does not contain any of the original Chars soul inside of him, he is lterally a memory clone with corrupted ideals of the original Char.
4. The original end of the novel is far more grim, with Banajer choosing to reject the godhood state from the unicorn, and becoming a soulless husk. At the end of the conflict, Laplaces Box is released to the world, for everyone to learn of its truth. What changes as a result of this revelation? Nothing, nothing at all. The cycle of decline for the Federation will continue, the endless vicious cycle of Zeons remnants fighting on will continue, and the Box's mystical power of the world had been reduced to nothingness in a moment.

This is the future of UC, a never ending cavalcade of even more insane factions from space cropping up to kick an ever shrinking Federal Force.

I have not heard much outside of that, but now that the manga-canon has another Zabi running about, I am rather curious where this one popped up from. Given how Alicia Zabi bares a strong resemblance to Minevia, there is a slight possiblity that she is the illegitimate daughter of Dozle and Hamans older sister Marlene, who was actively serving as Dozle's mistress during his time with Zena.

There is also a chance this one is a fake who is carrying the mantle to gain power, but with her knowlege of the cloning project, which was limited exclusivly the Zabi family members or loyalist, that seem unlikely.

I am curious as to what they cook up as to where she cropped up from.

Iranian was in very recent memory and the rise of the muhajadeen in Afghanistan was currently happening back then.
