Realistically, will we ever see an adaptation, memes aside? Serious discussion
>>15715615
It is 20 years old. No, it will not get an adaptation at this point.
>>15715637
>what is jjba
>>15715674
About an order of magnitude more popular, that's what. Maybe two.
I think a follow-up to F91 centered around Cosmo Babylonia and the rise of the Zanscare Empire would be more interesting. Crossbone Gundam doesn't need to be canon.
>>15715683
It's also still on-going. Hasegawa is still making sequels, but the JJBA manga is still going after more than 20 years. It's gone to new generations and arcs, it's even changed publication, but it's never finished and gotten sequels several years later like Crossbone. Sunrise could make a Crossbone adaptation and have had the material to do so with decades and never have, so they're unlikely to do so in future given that won't change.
Jojo's was also adapted several times in the past with less success and was more difficult to adapt simply because of musical rights given Araki's predilection for naming things after bands and songs; a problem Crossbone does not have.
>>15715702
Crossbone doesn't have a cult following like Jojo does, Bandai doesn't give a shit about one guy on /m/ begging for an anime
>>15715708
I wasn't disputing that, only adding further reasons and information to the first anon's point since relative popularity is not the only difference between the two.
>>15715615
It's not happening because they don't want to pay Hasegawa and empower him to make more shlock
>>15715615
If it's in UC and doesn't have Zeon, Sunrise doesn't care. That's why we get shit like Twilight Axis animated while everything past UC 100 is utterly forgotten.
>>15715716
Does that motherfucker have to be attached if they do make an adaptation? I fucking hate his artstyle.
>>15715928
>Does that motherfucker have to be attached
Yes original design and story do not steal duh
>>15715615
>Serious discussion
>Crossbone
NOT ON /m/ BANDIDO
>>15715700
Motherfucking this. I need more Seabook, Zabine, and those sweet ass Vanguard mechs.
>>15715949
Got damn it.
>>15715949
But the story of the first Crossbone manga is Tomino's work. Hasegawa just did art for it.
>>15715721
>If it's in UC and doesn't have Zeon
This. Also the enemy MS (i.e. anything NOT Crossbones) look like shite.
>>15716003
No it is not.
There is a difference between "Tomino wrote the story" and "Hasegawa expands on Tomino's ideas and crude plans, which are not cast on stones, and add his own flavor to it to make a story out of it".
Does it need one? It has plenty of visibility and the kits sell well.
>>15715714
>relative popularity.
Jojo is one of the best selling manga of all time, man. It's really, really popular.
>>15716017
Seriously. It's like the Crossbone was the only MS designed by a professional mecha artist. All the mooks can not have been conceptualized by the same person who designed X-bone, could they have?
>>15715949
Yeah, but if he allow Bandai to do whatever they want with story and design then it won't be stealing. I think Crossbone adaptation may happen at some point, but it will be heavily modified version of the original work.
>>15715714
>relative popularity
Call me when Crossbone get popular enough to warrant a collaboration with fucking Gucci or something equivalent.
>>15717157
>heavily modified version of the original work
I'm fine with that. Something wacky with some neat ass designs will be fine.
>>15717368
I think a space pirate Gundam series lends itself to AU. It just doesn't belong in the UC continuity.
>>15718391
>It just doesn't belong in the UC continuity.
Says you. Late UC is full of crazy antics.
That being said, I have zero issue with it getting re-purposed into an AU. Hell, go the X route and make it notUC
>>15716092
>visibility
Where?
>>15718395
>I have zero issue with it getting re-purposed into an AU
IBO literally is pretty much exactly that.
>>15720318
Except for the maritime pirate theme. Didn't help that it was barely watchable, either.
>>15715615
Our only shot at late-UC is if someone at Sunrise remembers that Formula 90 has Mars Zeon in it, because if the enemy is not Zeon or some incarnation of it, then Japan does not care.
>>15720318
I wanted a Seabook-expy though
>>15720343
It's tone is also roughly the polar opposite of Crossbone, which is much more light hearted. I'm not sure in what way IBO could be considered similar to Crossbone honestly.
>>15722526
>>15715615
Only when this get an anime
>>15722558
Not even Tomino remembers that anymore, never Sunrise.
