EXVS is heavily neutral focused, managing your landings, having a good zunda, etc.

In Versus they fucked over the BR tracking and greatly shortened the red lock range similar to how they cut off the limbs of characters in SF5 while simultaneously buffing melee so the game becomes mash melee and watch their life vanish.

They even added mechanics to make the game easier by adding Boost Dive so people don't have to worry about bad landings or being too high and replacing Rainbow Step with Red Step to make melee incomings easier

Yes, that too. but a large percentage gives no licks about the series and will play for reasons already mentioned. I hated age as a series but have no qualms using Age-2 because it was just fun as hell to play on top of being pretty biable for times when i want to tryhard and win.

Plenty of suits and cancel routes removed entirely from the arcade version. Suits like GP03 which had a lot of freefall cancels that didn't require boost had them removed. The game was deliberately made simple so it could be marketed better to the West. That's not to say the series is shit, I wager all the missing cancel routes, all the fancy stunts and neat tricks will be added in a sequel once the global fanbase (and not just the japs) but the fact remains that GVS in its present state is very simple to play and does not have as much depth as its predecessors.

Kinda sucks that most DLC is going to be stuff that was already in EXVS, some even in EXVS FB. I wanted some more fringe enemy suits like Cronicle Aster's Rig Contio or the Gengaozo. Or the Kabakali or G-Lucifer. Also new IBO suits. Maybe we will get some of this stuff if they are adamant about not adding new series. There is honestly plenty to pad out with the series we have and new series could easily be added for a sequel down the road. I kinda expect this game to take the Blazblue/Guillty Gear route with updated game versions.
