Just passed my Pilot's License test.
What's a good first mech?

Welcome to the Zeon military, conscript.

I trust you to do the right thing, senpai.
Depends on what you're going for.
A GM variant is always good to start with. Cheap, reliable, parts are easy to get, piss easy to modify if needed, and a pretty standard control scheme.

Feddies BTFO.
Anyway OP get a 3k Leo with a few Simpld mods.
>>15653111
>Leo
You did hear about the recall, right? Are you trying to kill the guy?
OP, don't listen to that guy. Get an affordable Guncannon. It's slightly pricier than a Leo, but it'll last longer. Not to mention you'll live long enough to trade it in if you feel inclined to down the line.
I dunno about you guys, but I'd vouch for a Walker Machine, almost any, really, except for Sendvead-types. They run on gasoline, and while they take getting used to are very "low down" in terms of actual needs (many can be repaired with car parts!) and usefulness. Something like an Ottrich or TRAD 11 is good for hauling big loads around if you need.
>>15653014
Barzam! Can't go wrong with it.
>>15653111
>Axisburgring
Anything with decent thrusters and controls can get good lap times there.
Even a fucking VF-171 could get a good lap time if you fly the right line.
>>15653111
3 Peice Discontinued Tallgeese head, 10 point cockpit rollcage, Ballute system, Fuel Cell with eight lines to the Verniers, oem Leo R reactor gasket, AMBAC Ballance Shaft delete, ported and polished Vernier pods from a Tallgeese, Dom Troppen extended leg studs, Radio Delete, five point pilot harness,.
>>15653131
>Pigfat Wetnoddle Guncanon
For the price it'd cost to get a Guncannon detector you could get a light weight slick Rabidog and it'd be easier on maintenance because you could use allot of basic parts from the multitudes of other Dog type AT's instead of some off kilter slightly based on a souped up Nemo thing the Detector is.

>Buy recent pieces through catalogs, older pieces can be found at various junkyards
>Spend time trading/talking with other anons on what they BUILDAN
>Finish a barely functioning frame, literally spending hundreds of hours just getting it to walk in a straight line
>Enter tournaments and fight, losing it all or just taking your first step on the ladder
It hurts to live
>>15653014
If you're dumb and like cool shit get yourself that one shitty KG-6 Sleipnir or any of the stupid Vers Super Robots.
Or get a cool second hand Geara Doga/Jegan.
>>15653014
Get a Jegan or a strike model, they go a long way and both are extremely versatile.
>>15653014
I said it back on /mo/ and I'll say it again. Acguy is Bestguy for a reason.
The missile arm can easily be converted to fire whatever you need it to, it's amphibious, it's a Zeek product so if you don't mind it looking a little crappy (or making/ordering custom armor) then you can easily plug and play nearly any part of theirs you can get your hands on, and it consistently has the comfiest chair out of any MS I've piloted.
While we're at it, i want to ask two questions
What is the Miata of Mecha?
What is the Prius of Mecha?
>>15653014
Splurge out and get yourself a limited production mobile suit. All those mass produced mobile suits are good and all, but a limited production suit like a Jesta has the finest tuning and responsiveness you'll ever see without getting yourself a custom.
>>15656359
Miata has to be GunEz or something from victory, since they're shaped like it and small
Just get a Scopedog, man. Hell, you could probably just build one from scratch from all of the wrecked ones lying around after the war.
>>15653111
>Axisburgring
Wasn't the record holder for the fastest lap time some guy in a fucking VF-11?
>>15653014
Just get a Savage bro

The future of mecha design is here my friend!
It is a bit ahead of it's time dsign wise, but you will be the envy of your squad later down the road with this fine piece of machinery, Boy do I have a deal for you.

Gotta love the AK of mechs.
The flag. What the fuck OP, is this even a question?
>>15653014

Th-thanks dad

Came here to post this
Get a Flag

Anyone found where the shop on the decal on his VF-11 is?
A tofu shop is pretty rare these days.
I love you guys.
>>15653014
A Gespenst of course.
>>15659257
This is a nice image.
>>15657854
Man, you know GN-Xs are military use only. You'd be lucky to find a Gen 1 GN-X, and then you need to find a GN Drive Tau that would be compatible. You'd either end up poisoning yourself or fall back to a GN Condenser, and those old GN-Xs get like 20 MPG tops.
>>15659257
I should probably know this, but is the girl on the left OC?
Any tips on driving stick?
>>15659281
Gespenst is great, but I like my machines with a little more heft.
>>15653014
Get a Virgo, they're cheap since Romefeller went out of business.
>>15660185
Idiot.
You can't pilot a Virgo. It doesn't have a cockpit.
>>15661546
He could swap out the torso for a Leo's, match the colour, and nobody'd be any wiser.
>>15653030
So traps are /m/, or most /m/ just happens to feature traps?
>>15660059
She's our newest girl-tan, Emi.
>>15661704
>>15660006
Both GN-X's and GN Tau's are on milsurp sites for pretty cheap yeah the hours are high but GN Drives a piss simple, and the only issue is old ones need that shitty starter, aside from that they're EZPZ if you're mot stupid, and keep the apex seals replaces, aside from that hardly a handful moving parts so they rarely break.
Well, my late grandfather left me his old VF-1, now all rusty and fucked from the years of no maintenance since he was too old and sick to maintain it and nobody knew he had the VF till he died anyway.
I had a silly hunch and tried starting up the engines, ya know, old VF engines are known for being stupidly reliable(of course I prepared fire extinguishers and everything). Turns out despite all the rust and other disgusting shit inside the engines, they still work, just shits out weird smelling exhaust. The hydraulics and shit for the controls are mostly dead but the engines pump out a steady stream of power, a little lower than what VF-1 engines are supposed to be shitting out but still way above my expectations.
Now here's my question, is there any place that sells VF-1 parts? I don't care for originals, third party fabricated ones are fine as long as they are of good quality. Gotta get this girl flying once more.
>>15661702
all the good robots have a hidden "that" to use in a pinch
