It pretty much ends the moment where other shows would just get started.
That the OVA did NOTHING to correct this is beyond baffling.

Considering that Xebec eventually went on to adapt D.N. Angel from the same mangaka, go "fuck it" and make up their own ending for it, can you blame them for having a second try and see if it went anywhere?

From my experience, this is the worst Mecha series I have seen. It's so poorly cobbled together, and ends up just being some training and build up to something that never delivers. It's a waste of time.

The most notable thing about it is the hilarious attempt at giving a serious explanation behind a cat girl's ears.
