Maybe I'm being overly pessimistic, but this is pretty underwhelming. It looks casualized, and the melee counter and cutscenes look like they'd get repetitive. The environments look empty to me too. It barely looks anything like Metroid 2. Looks more like a fangame than AM2R.

Is it just me or is the morph ball incredibly slow? Like holy crap 5:20ish was like an eternity. There also seems to be a lot of cutscenes and random long animations at times. It'd still have to be reworked somewhat. Removing key scenes and monologues about the baby are well and good, but the entire traitor plotline got dropped off when Ridley returned and the rest of the no-name marines bit it. Plus the fact that Samus already came with all of her powerups instead of finding them, which makes her not using them earlier still weak, even if the permissions scenes were removed.

And it'd be nice if the game had told me that I had power bombs during the queen metroid fight instead of silently turning them on once I'm already in the queen's stomach and rapidly dying.

Of course, I didn't actually mind, because Fusion and Prime 3 have reasonably decent stories and very solid gameplay - two things that Other M notably lacked.

They don't look bad, but it seems ever since Prime the suit has been a little slim for my liking, and I'm not a particularly big fan of the glowing green lines everywhere. I'll forever prefer the bulky, technical look of the Super Metroid suit.
