Putting that aside....Am I the only one who knew she wasn't going to get killed because she's a main character? I could tell that when watching this as a little kid, because it was obvious that she was a main character, and she wasn't just going to get killed off just like that.

The whole angle of him trying to kill her gets dropped pretty quickly. I don't get why this is such a hilarious meme.

His Actions have a high chance of causing collateral damage seeing as he is bombing facilities and such so the easiest way to drive people away from him doing whatever future mission which will most likely involve a lot of destruction like ohh say piloting a giant robot?

his actions towards people who are not directly involved away and safe from his inevitable chaos

this comes across as him being a total fucking psychopath on purpose as he knows this is the best way to keep people out of harms way as naturally we will avoid a psychopath
Relena keeps trying to get close to him so he has to up the ante somewhat to make sure she doesn't get hurt

and if there was anything the show made us aware of was the kindness of his character
it was more than just him wanting to die

give a gun to the granddaughter of the guy you just killed?
if her killing him would bring her peace then he was willing to accept that fate

I loved Wing as a teenager when it was on Toonami, but looking back on it almost 15 years later it's like a parody. There is a ton of potential there for something really good though.
