Can we have a thread dedicated to "smaller" mechs and mobile tanks?
Stuff that's about two stories tall?
I tend to like these designs a little more, but they don't seem as widespread as HUGE MECHA.
>>15603359
>>15603359
I thought frame arms were supposed to be huge though, like gundam sized?
>>15603359
>16m Tall
>Small
>>15603359
Yeah, small mecha are great. Don't get me wrong, I love the giants. But in some ways making them smaller can actually make a mecha seem more imposing. Make a mecha too big and you lose sense of scale, have it be just around five meters tall and it's still capable of interacting with individual people and person-sized vehicles (at least, in a capacity beyond "crunch"), gives better perspective on its hugeness.
>>15603370
I don't mean "tiny" or "Power Armor" or anything.
I just mean shorter, bulkier looking mechs. I guess a mech can actually be any size you imagine them until you see them standing beside stuff for reference, or it says explicitely in their description.
I love kagutsuchis legs
front mission? top taste
>>15603389
Same here. Preferably, they ought to be four meters. We already have the Kuratas. Now we just need to get to working on human-esque legs, and we can be good after another century.

5th Gen Armored Cores look awesome.

Does Koto provide specs for the "in universe" heights of Frame Arms? Kagutsuchi might be bigger than it looks.
>>15604151
IIRC FAs are 1/100 scale.
>>15604151
So if model height is 18cm, then it stands about 18m? That's Gundam sized.
I'm wondering if maybe OP was a case of mistaken identity, and he thought it was a wanzer.
>>15603791
Here, have more from the same short story.
>>15605426
>>15605431
The Knightmare Frames from Code Geass aren't that big. Even the bigger ones like the Siegfried or Gawain aren't taller than 10m.
>>15605441
...and at this point in time, it's evolved into a guy in powered armor dropping down onto a planet, commandeering all the amorphous mass available & reconfiguring them into his own personal army. The planetside defenses would be doing the same.
The civilians didn't really care much asides from their household appliances not reverting back to normal afterwards, since both sides basically governed the same.

Oh, now I remember why I didn't save the rest. I didn't like so much those battleballs. Thanks anyway.
>>15604151
In the manual it states the Katsuguchi that is the OP is 21m tall, of course that's counting the head antennae but even without that its around 18m tall.

Thnaks, kind anon.
Some seems to hate the Panzerklien in Silent Storm but they are fun to use as squad support.
Enemies behind cover? Just autocannon the entire building or use arm mounted mortar launcher or use the all penetrating laser cannon acquired from Tibetan monks.
>>15615770
In all fairness, the story covered their evolution from 1995 up to 17,500 AD.
It's mostly tongue-in-cheek, like how the GM Terrain Walker was basically a walking nuke that was set to detonate if the operator was killed. The US used them to neutralize Red China & the occasional riot at home.
>>15616715
I never used them that much in both games, but I liked how you could level an entire building with a few well-placed shots. Panzerkleins were almost completely invincible against infantry in Silent Storm, and only became more balanced in Silent Storm Sentinels.
I like the model that can equip two guns, and that completely closed model with the custom skull markings.

Anyone got any of those High Quality Quo Vadis 2 mecha Images?
>>15603370
from What anime is this?
>>15620834
Nevermind, I found it.
Garasaki...it is any good?
>>15620837
It's decent. The military fiction parts are solid enough, the RICE WAR NAO FOR STRONK JAPAN plot is okay and the plot about karmatic reoccurrence was done decently. The golden Aylums-ending was the weakest part.

Are there any interesting mecha shows with smol mechas aside from VOTOMS and FMP?
>>15603530
Pretty good taste, honestly.
>>15623358
FMP mecha are hardly small, patlabor is around the same scale.
This thread deserves to live.

All Armored Cores are beautiful, anon. From the simple Master of Arena age to the Kawamori NEXT age, and even to the gritty ACV age. Beautiful, functional modular perfection.

Great designs and art.
Good mech battles, but under utilized.
Passable plot that bogs down way too much with unimportant minutiae later in it's run.
Terribly boring characters that you feel zero connection to.
An ending that comes out of nowhere and resolves nothing.
Your mileage may vary.
I'm surprised no one posted any clan elementals from battletech.
