Make sure you follow a guide, because there's lots of shit you can miss. Always do sidequests right away when they pop up, since you want a perfect score. It gives you a really nice quartz at the start of SC that lets you get better Arts than you're supposed to have.

Every character except Estelle and Joshua is temporary in the first game until the final dungeon, but you should make sure to upgrade all of their slots before moving on since there's segments later where you have to use all of them. Schera and Kloe in particular will be with you when you fight the optional superboss.

Combat picks up significantly once you do the Orbment Replacement sidequest in Chapter 1. The Impede 2 quartz it hands out lets you give someone Aerial, which is the best AoE art for pretty much the whole game and makes dealing with encounters a lot less tedious.

For taking out Shining Poms, you'll be able to use your S-Craft to kill the Chapter 1 ones, but later ones will require you to use Shadow Spear. Time arts and quartz are all broken as fuck anyway, so you should be putting Shadow Spear on everyone as soon as you can.

Trails is a lot of fun, so I hope you enjoy the ride.

Considering it took a whole game's worth of dungeon crawling to make Rean worthy of Valimar, and another whole games worth to get it a custom weapon and learn how to fully use it, I can't help but feel like they can't do this for any other party member without looking like it was rushed.

I guess they could just pull another Crow with them going through the trails and building their weapon off screen but that's probably going to be a let down especially if they do it multiple times.

Good joke. Falcom already stated last year that Divine Knight/Soldat battles are getting enchanced and player controls multiple units of them this time, not just one or two, like at the end of CS2.

I'd finish CS2 before the Crossbell games because CS is an obvious downgrade. I'm saying this as someone who actually liked CS.
