It's the opposite. Zeon started as Imperial Japan in 0079 but later morphed into a version of spazi nazis because fans (mostly japanese) liked the ww2 german imagery. With time even this imagery was turned into the moral relativism bullshit of "they did nothing wrong" and so we end up with Zeon being the good or at worst morally gray guys. In other terms starting in the 1990s Sunrise managed to destroy Tomino's original warning and transform Zeon into the good guys with all that entails. UC Gundam was basically transformed into an apology of war criminals and genocidal leaders.

The show routinely vilifies Zeon for their actions in the One Year War and in general, denying their actions were noble and good probably at least once an episode. There is no Article 9 analogue, since 0079 never presented the Zabi's as going to war because of the mistreatment of newtypes, and Unicorn never presents the original charter's wording as something that would have prevented the One Year War.

Meanwhile, Tomino was the one actually responsible for almost all the habits people criticize other directors for. He was the one started making Zeon sympathetic, he was the one started making them winners (Axis Zeon are the winners in Zeta, if there is to be one) or giving them at least a superficially noble goal, he was the one started making Zeon characters more sympathetic and Zeon more humane as a side than the Federation etc.

Let's not, but let's start by actually identifying them first. I'm assuming you mean Anaheim Electronics, but AE has never stoked the hatred between sides in any material ever, not even side story games or manga as far as I'm aware. They've profited by selling to both sides in a few instances, mostly Char's Counterattack, but even then, most of them are odd ball cases where the current government politically and economically pressures them in to selling one suit to them (the Marasai in Zeta for instance), or they sell a single suit the government commissioned and then declined after it was completed to a lone individual who is no longer affiliated with either side (the GP-04 to Cima) rather than them simply selling willy-nilly to both sides.
