Musha G Generation, the BBsenshi series based off Turn A Gundam serves as an origin story. It explains that they were originally all mobile dolls, but during a conflict against an ancient evil AI, some ancient goody AI possessed the Turn A mobile doll and gave it sentience. Over time that grew to a whole race of sentient mobile dolls.

The depiction of humans alongside SD Gundams is inconsistent though. Knight Gundam spin-offs usually had them in some way while Musha and G-arms usually omitted them altogether.

Carddass started off from vending machines that kids can roll a card for like a quarter or something, later turned into exclusive collectors card set that can only be purchased as a full set via Premium-Bandai website. Throughout the years Bandai have published may sets as you can see from this list, with 7 more published since the cutoff at 2014.

Cards, usually 40 to 50 in a regular set, and double that if it is a special set / reprint bundle.

Some sets comes with a giant anniversary card, others have special cards that are double layered. Meaning the top card is a sticker that you can peel off to reveal another card underneath. They also provide blank backing cards for the peeled off stickers

A booklet with shows the thumbnails for all the cards in the set, talks about the settings and stories, and a short comic at the end. The best feature IMO would be the draft line arts of the designs.

Also comes with a sleeve binder for keeping the cards. The cover of the binder is themed to each set.

Really love the SD series, collected them before moving on to 1/100 scale models. Looking at the images here I was curious and wanted to see the Knight version of the 00 units only to find pic related after hours of searching.

This makes me sad. I couldn't find any Sengokuden version of 00 units either.

Nice, Exia even have transformation mode like Haganemaru. And seems like a new story which is why Exia does not exist in the Sengokuden.

And still decided to dig in more and found out that Exia is the Brave Gundam in the Genesis of Gundam Gaiden and became the core of Superior Dragon. Thought it was a variation stuff, turns out they actually took it into canon.

Things got a little bit better. It just a downer not seeing the other Celestial Being units.

I think there was an a restructuring of the spin-offs in '92 '93, thereabouts, when Shin Sengokuden and Shin Gaiden arcs were made. From then on, the Hobby division's BBsenshi started focusing more on Musha while the Toy division's Gansou line of kits started focusing on Knight and what's left of G-arms.

This really helped with the longevity of Musha Gundam since Bandai Hobby's stuff is constantly being reissued while Gansou ended in the mid-90s.

Prior to Sangokuden they tried to reboot the SD franchise several times, SD Gundam Force was one of these attempts. None of them really caught fire until Sangokuden came along.
