Aldnoah.Zero, Argevollen, Buddy Complex, and Comet Lucifer are the only ones worth watching.

Reconguista in G has a weird start, but once they get to space it's Gundam at it's best. Not even being ironic.
Buddy Complex and Gargantia weren't bad either.
I hear a lot about Fafner, but I've not seen it yet.

Gundam Unicorn, Fafner Exodus, and Broken Blade are the only worthwhile mech shows I can think of. You can also throw Yamato 2199 in there if you don't care if it's strictly mecha or not.

Buddy Complex was good, not great though. Break Blade is worth checking out. G-Reco was very good. Cross Ange was a train wreck worth the ride. The Origin and Thunderbolt are worth watching. Gargantia was probably the best original Mecha anime to come out. The first season of Knights of Sidonia was good. Appleseed Alpha was'nt bad, the CG was pretty bearable at least - and it was'nt quite as butchered as other modern Appleseed adaptions. It has been a pretty awful decade for Mecha anime so far though all in all. The Japanese seem to have just about given up on making quality mecha shows at this point.

There are some notable Real Robot ones, but if you're looking for good Supers the last noteworthy Supers IMO were Mazinkaiser SKL and Star Driver (While Star Driver aired in late 2010, it ended the following year). I haven't seen SKL but it looks right up my alley, and I've only watched the first half of Star Driver but I'm enjoying it a lot so far. I hear Comet Lucifer's pretty good, too.

Was Kuromukuro alright? I remember liking the first episodes but getting distracted.
