That it's seriously fucking retarded. Human emotions are fueled by chemicals that trigger in response to certain stimuli. It's a system with a purpose in mind. You'd have to design an AI system to specifically simulate those things.

A proper AI should just do what it's created to do and it doesn't make sense for a combat AI to suddenly become a human with emotions that would just be a liability.

Those things probably existed in some form in some of the shows. In the beginning of 00S2, Setsuna knocks out the power unit of a power suit equipped soldier who was using it to move around more easily in a high gravity environment.

Anyway, the problem is that Gundam has always been about large robots. At most, everything else like fighters and mobile armors and tanks are just side material at best. Powered armor will never be the focus. Junior MS are also a thing if you care, but you probably consider those too large, and they'll also never be the focus either.

That more or less already also exists in 00. A-Laws can't be fucked to maintain an infantry fighting force, so they use armored robots with machine guns instead.

There's also the Loto from Unicorn that is a troop carrier MS with fire support capability, the Federation uses it to transport and insert members of the ECOAS special forces into and out of situations. Of course, none of those soldiers have power armor, but the concept is close enough.

I recall the Turn A automatically firing it's beam rifle in the first episode or so, and both suits unleashing the moonlight butterfly, but nothing else during the final fight indicated that the machines stopped responding to their pilots.
