You can't really hold this against Kazuki because in episode 2 Fumihiko was supposed to explain some things to him but bitched out because he was too uncomfortable doing so, which basically gave all the other adults a free pass to bitch out on it since if the boss man doesn't have to, neither do you.

Cause how do you tell your kid that they're piloting walking coffins. Especially after what happened in RoL. That they're either going to die from piloting or die from Festum if they don't pilot and nobody else will. It basically became a scenario where they all hoped that Chizuru would find a solution before it was needed

Thinking about it, things like history class must have been interesting before the truth was out. That's ~40 years worth of war with aliens to sweep under the rug, unless they lied about the year.

It's interesting to consider in general, like compared to Kazuki and co who were at least teenagers, the younger kids (3rd gen especially) have lived at least half their lives so far under attack.

Where do you think Sakura got her poor temper from? That's why her mom mishandled that situation and that at the end of the episode they let him do a little show. The parents are too busy trying to keep the island from sinking now that they're under constant attack that they aren't really able to help the kids adjust, which is even worse for the main Alvis staff.

They're human, so they can make poor choices. They're still good people it's just the pressure of the situation can get to them at times. It's why Mizoguchi is THE MAN, because out of all the Adults, he's the one who you can always count on to get shit done AND jump in the line of fire for the kids.
