Favorite is Assault Suit Valken or, Cybernator, as it is sometimes known.

I'd love to play a modern mecha game with a stronger story bent, but I feel like those experimental times are over. So the closest thing I have to a mecha game I'm currently playing is Dropzone Commander.
>>
I don't know about favorite, but some stand outs I can recall
>Metal Warriors
>Armored Core (all of the PSX/PS2 titles)
>Votoms PS2
>SRW (obviously)
>Federation vs Zeon & Gundam vs Gundam
>Getter Robo Daikessen
>Virtual ON
>>
>>15459564

Favorite would be either Front Mission 5 or SRW Z.

Currently not playing any mecha game, rather playing waifufaggotry simulator AKA persona 5

G Gen Wars/Overworld
Haven't played much Armored Core, but what I played was loads of fun

SRW V. Could be better, but eh, dat Yamato
>>
>>15459564
Zone of the Enders 2 is the greatest mecha game in all of existence.
>>
>>15459705
It's mediocre IMO. Great mecha designs? Yeah. I really like Dingo and Ken, too. But the gameplay is incredibly lackluster to the point of detrimental. It consists of just mashing either your ranged or melee attack. The sub-weapons are useless outside of forced instances. Zero shift just makes the gameplay even more brain dead since it becomes warp > mash. I've played it on the hardest difficulties with naked Jehuty, so don't even try. It's a shallow game, just a little something extra in terms of gameplay and it could have been a real stand out.
>>
>>15459564
Probably MGS2 and not because of the story, fucking /v/ since I'm a sucker for espionage in /m/ settings
I just wish there had been a mech operating sequence or VR mode

Lately I've been playing Extreme Vs Force on Vita, pretty great
>>
Super Robot Wars F/Final. It was my first voiced SRW.

I'm playing Front Mission 3.

Armored Core 3 & Silent Line

It's a bit of a stretch, but the most /m/ thing I'm playing right now is Guilty Gear Xrd R. It's got robits in it, sorta

OMF 2097. Very satisfying clang noises, and a decent fighter in general.

I feel somewhat obligated to say G Gen Overworld, but Gundam Battle Universe is the game that got me into Gundam. At the same time, I love EXVSFB and Breaker 2.

I can't decide on a favorite right now, but I'm playing Overworld and GBU lately.
>>
>>15459564
I go back to Front Mission 3 the most. I remember liking Ring of Red and ZoE: Fist of Mars but haven't played them for years.
>>
Favorite is probably Zoids Battle Legends. Voice acting and some translations are shit, but in an entertaining enough way that I'm surprised hasn't sprouted any memes yet. Gameplay is pretty solid though, and I like how ridiculous some of the customization options are. (Lord Gale with FUCKHUEG gatling guns on it's arm and shoulder)

Currently playing: Gundam Breaker 3.
>>
>>15459564
Personal Favorite: Tech Romancer

Currently Playing: Nothing. I haven't bought anything new since wrapping up Nier: Automata.
>>
What games let you enter and exit your mech at will? I'm looking for stuff like Metal Warriors, Lost Planet, Xenoblade Chronicles, and so on.

Stealing other mechs is a plus, but not required.
>>
Best mecha games on PC?

Pretty much how I feel about Bangai-O's English script. It's overflowing with Engrish to the point that I wonder how people have missed it.
>>
>>15460405
Blaster master.
>>
>>15460405
I remember an old PC game called G-Nome where ejecting and stealing enemy mechs was a big selling point. I recall similar mechanics being in Mech Assault, although it might only be in the second one.

Titanfall, if you consider it a mecha game.

There was an NES game called Metal Mech: Man and Machine (at least in the US) where you had to get out of your mech to reach some areas.

My favorite is probably Zone of the Enders, and if it counts I'm currently playing through Shatterhand, although I want to pick up SRWV sometime. I played through Xardion yesterday, which was pretty slow. The ending was really stupid, too, but overall it was a just okay game.

The coolest thing about it really was Xardion's design.
>>
>>15460405
Votoms on the ps2
>>
I remember a really obscure freeware game that might not even have been in english. It was this weird top-down shooter/strategy hybrid where you piloted a custom unit and your horde of mechs faced off against the enemy horde in a LOGH/Dynasty Warriors scale battle

Does anyone have any clue as to what I'm talking about? I've brought it up a few times, and it never seems to go anywhere.
>>
>>15459564
I don't know if it's because Front Mission 3 is easier, or if Front Mission 1 is harder, but I'm fucking terrible at it. I remember getting about 16 missions in on Front Mission 1 when I was younger.

I would have thought it'd be easier once I was older and more experienced, but now I can't go into the second mission without getting the main character shot down. Either I'm overestimating myself, or I don't know what I'm doing.
>>
>>15459564
I got into Front Mission back about a year and a half ago or so, i couldn't get past a certain part about an hour or so into it.

Anyone remember Gadget Trial? I love this little game. I feel bad for it, since it predates the whole vehicle girl boom of recent years yet it never really got popular.
>>
>>15460609
Front Mission 3 is way easier. ROFUP1 chaining into itself is OP as fuck.

That said, Front Mission 1 was way more generous with weight. It was easy to build a wanzer with weapons in both hands, a shield, a missile launcher, and a backpack that carries items in FM1. In FM3 it was harder to load up a wanzer like that.
>>
>>15460609
>>15460647
Think you guys need to do the arena more to get some skills under your pilots and also get some money for better gear. The first game had really no balance with your weps and their weight, so everyone can equip top rate missile launchers and still be close range powerhouses. If the early arena fights are problematic, just missile launcher the easy bouts, too, and then get better close range gear

Fuck Yeah Gadgetrial!
I keep hoping for a hand-held remake.
>>
>>15460745
It's such a perfect hand held game, an updated version of the original would be amazing but it's been 9 years since it was last reissued ;_;
>>
>>15460609
The trick to getting through is to do some grinding in the arena and carry missile launchers on both shoulders of as many wanzers as possible. The back half of story becomes a real joke that way. I don't know if the DS version is the only one with the alternate story playthrough thing but that one is even tougher starting out.

Definitely Armored Core: For Answer! It's my #2 GOAT, and even though I think AC3 is a much better designed game, I find For Answer to be my absolute favorite /m/ game.

It's because of AC, A.C.E., and the Soulsborne games that From Software is my favorite developer ever.

Blaster Master just got a remake, and with the FA:Girls taking off the way they are, maybe this Mecha-Musume gem of the bygone past might get revisited.

Visual Novel+Advance Wars+Porn: What's not to love?
My only concern is that it would likely be re-released for the IOS.

Poor godawful Xardion.
It tried so hard to be good, but just didn't have what it took.
Not for lack of mecha design, certainly.

It reminds my of my favorite, WURM: Journey to the Center of the earth, AKA Underground Battlespace Vazolder.

Good ideas that didn't have the ass to back it up.
>>
Oh lord, it's coming back to me. I remember why I stopped playing when I was younger, I missed the Zeus Gun!
>>15460677
Yeah, on FM3, you had to pretty much dedicate yourself to one weapon and call it quits
>>15460696
Isn't it better to focus on one particular weapon for a pilot? Isn't Llyod better at missile launchers?
>>
>>15460647
Try the DS version is more "easy" and you can fast up the batlles.

Sakura Taisen is my favorite video game of all time period, so I guess it would be that.

Other contenders:
Bulk Slash
Virtual On
Gihren's Greed
Earth Light and Earth Light Luna Strike
CRW
Geograph Seal
Mechcommander
Phantom Crash
