It was hilarious. I really like how Chronicle's outfit is a pantyhose worn over his face. His death is possibly the funniest death I've ever seen, since the camera just KEEPS ROLLING.

I do recall Uso being teased during the episode that Marbet gets married to Oliver, but there's not much about Shakti and Uso being a couple.

This image always hits me, that in so many series where the main Gundam is either destroyed at the end, decommissioned, or is discarded as a useless or unneeded tool, the Victory and V2 not only survived the bloody Zanscare war, but find peace themselves. While Uso and Shakti returned to their idyllic life in the countryside, these two giant war machines are just lounging around, relaxed, and without the need to fight any longer.

Probably someone was just trolling you. Or maybe they couldn't get over the motorcycle battleships. Or maybe they didn't watch it because Tomino told them not to, and they just assume it's bad because he didn't like working on it and tried to sabotage the story. They did. The V2 Assault Buster is equipped with an I-field generator, and the X1 Full Cloth is equipped with two alternating ones. But miniaturized I-field generators can't run forever and do need to cool down before they can be used again, which exposes the suit to enemy fire. Plus, they're expensive.

Victory-era fusion power plants are compact and powerful enough to allow it.
In addition, the advent of Minovsky flight means you don't need to expend anywhere near as much power to move around.

Victory is pretty terrible to me.. Could care less about every character in the show. Shakti is just plot auto-pilot. Karl the constantly crying baby is annoying as all hell and Uso even 23+ episodes in is still a giant whimp crying about every little thing that comes his way. What was it in search for Shakti he's all "oh no 2 enemy mobile suits what do I do?!!?" it's like kid HOW many of this crappy suits have you decimated across 20 episodes by now?? but still crying like it's a challenge. I hear people describe it as grimdark because a lot of people die but it's just a giant so what, they never make an effort to get you to actually care about any of them so oh no there goes random girl MS pilot #7

Uso is so fucking dense, no matter how many times Katejina says that she hates him and wants to kill him hes always "KATEJINA SAAAAAN PLEASE!!!", and even after we see him kill Zanscare soliders several times he still has a hard time for some reason to kill random grunt unit N° 312
And Shakti is just the worst, I tried so hard to like her
She made me re-evalutate and apreciate other characters like Katz, Hathaway and even Quess
A lot of characters that seemed interesting are quickly killed off or disappear for 3/4s of the story only to return and die
