Hajime was the original Joker Undead. Should he be the last unsealed Undead, the world falls apart as he literally is composed of mainly nihilism and entropy. Kenzaki literally mutates himself into a second Joker Undead before all the remaining Undead are sealed in order to make sure that when they all are sealed, the world doesn't end and Hajime can live a peaceful life. They literally cannot interact with each other, however, because if they do, the Battle starts again and the ensuing fight will kill a lot of people before the world itself ends.
