Your "Mobile Man" design may be impressive, but can it stand against the awesome strength of the Martian Fighting Machine? The "Beam Saber" is surely a great weapon, but it pales in comparison to both the range and power of the deathly Heat Ray, and since the Fighting Machine can move faster than birds in flight, the "Beam Saber can easily be dodged!
The Fighting Machine has even gone toe to toe with an Ironclad and won! Can you say the same about the "Mobile Man"?

>The Fighting Machine has even gone toe to toe with an Ironclad and won
A fucking iceberg killed an ironclad ship.
Killing one of those is fucking nothing.

I like the idea of a series where it focuses on the villains of a mecha show, seeing their flawed thought processes about why they will win. Stupidly thinking they are superior but in terms of military might they get ass blasted on a daily basis.

MS Igloo.

I'm sure Mazinger and Getter Robot can solo those little martian shits.

COME ON THUNDERCHILD!
>>15423430
You know they come in gun form too, right?
>>15423430
No need for a mech to battle these martian shits.
Nature is enough to kill them.
>>15423685
I now want a mecha series where the main mecha is called the Thunder Child and defeats Martian mechs by ramming into them.
>>15424087
fuck yes
>>15423430
>Heat Ray
>Beam Rifle
>A ray is a convex pattern of firing
>A rifle fires a round accurate to a certian distance
>Three legs
>Compared to the thrusters and verniers on a mobile suit
Itt: Deluded Martian too baby for a fucking cold
Torpedo Rams were dumb.

B-but muh Battle of Lissa!
In all fairness though, the latter half of the 19th century was a golden age of wackiness for naval development.
Dynamite gun cruisers, anyone?

We had this thread recently already. My argument was that a GM Sniper would be enough to destroy all of them
>>15425667
Or just infect them with common human pathogens.
>>15425689
yeah pretty much any setting with India means humans win

IBO.

I was actually working on such a concept, although rather than being a mech, the new Thunder Child being a space battleship, kinda like the Yamato except instead of having a big ass cannon it'd have an absolutely massive shield generator that'd allow it to ram enemy ship without taking damage from either the ramming or from the enemy firing on them while heading towards them
there would be actual mecha present as well of course, which of course would be called Fighting Machines
achoo

I've always had a soft spot for Russia's round battleships. They're adorable.
not mecha but this man can beat the living shit out of martian pods
>>15426030
Fucking Russian monitors man. What were they thinking.
>>15423449
We should send the iceberg next time.
>>15423430
Actually, think about it. The Fighting Machines were mere expedition suits. Imagine actual martian combat mecha. They`d probably have armor that can withstand both beams and physical projectiles. As well as more powerful guns,an actual melee implement ,not just tentacles, which are kind of like the Martian`s hands, and the whole tripod is like an almost perfect simulacrum of the Martian`s body. Just think about it and realize that the Martians lost, because they sent to Earth the equivalent of ten guys in space suits with guns.

It's a horrible design in so many ways, but I just love the look of it.

They were designed to just sort of fart around in the mouths of bays, rivers, etc so they were never designed to be sea worthy.
The prevailing thought is a cheap stable weapons platform with a low profile, heavy armor, and battleship/fortress guns.
it was actually quite good at what it was designed for
