Just got back from pilgrimage to the holy land.
How many of you have been to the Gundam Cafes, do you want me to share pictures or is it old now? My first time going.
Neat
All of the food is heavily themed on characters/mecha, mostly from the original. My girlfriend ended up getting the Sleggar Burger which I thought was hilarious. I couldn't resist getting a Char's Zaku; I was also considering the Hyaku Shiki soup but I wanted something substantial. The food is actually really nice as well, not just some shit made to look like a cartoon. The coffee is notably very good.
This is the bathroom.
The staff were a bit bad; very slow even though there were plenty of empty seats I waited for about 20 minutes outside. Everything else was great though. They were playing the OP/ED medley from one of the DVD box sets and it was hilarious. I left when I remembered that SEED Destiny existed. Shop pictures coming up.

I went there a month or two ago, ordered the IBO set meal which looks like the show. Lots of women in there and I enjoyed the coffee and took some pics.
Not bad but pretty expensive for what you get. Worth going once at least.

Yeah, two "very attractive" (as in wearing like nightclub clothes) asian girls came in halfway through my meal like it was nothing. Nice atmosphere. Definitely wouldn't go every night but I'd try every meal at least once if I lived nearby. My gf was saying she was expecting more model kits, of which there were like maybe two. The shop was better in that respect.
On a side note, this made me WTF
I was hoping I'd be able to pick up a Converge Hambrabi since it's my favourite MS of all time. In the Gundam shop there were an absolute fucking shitton of them; I was incredibly happy I was able to get one but also incensed because this suggests Hambrabi is not popular.
Get your shit together Japan.
Here's the second Gundam Cafe on Odaiba Island. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the life-sized Gundam because they started taking it down that day (5/4/17) before I realized. Looks like they're putting up a 1:1 Unicorn next though.
This Cafe is much more like a traditional cafe - you can't buy the food here but you can get iced coffee instead, and they have a lot more merchandise. A hell of a lot of women around as well.
Sorry for the shitty phone quality pictures.
Muh favourite Converge set so far. Got a Mk-II as well.
>>15411023
Wait, is that a Hashmal kit over there?
>>15411031
Yep.
Strangely though, not a lot of IBO love at all. I get the feeling it's mostly for nostalgiafags.
Considering the amount of women present I was surprised there was almost 0 SEED representation, too.
This was my "Jangle War" Zaku dessert.
I think that's pretty much everything. I didn't take so many photos because I hate being a tourist.
I've got some from the Toei Studio Park in Kyoto if anyone's interested in that.
These guys were pretty cool in action.
Love how these guys only got cardboard cutouts.
I guess the suits got damaged at some point?
Whereare the girls you keep mentioning
>>15411129
You can't just take pictures of people without their permission, Anon. That's rude.
>>15411135
Fuc off then
>he didn't go to Evangelion World
>>15411058
>tfw didn't know about Toei Studio park in Kyoto
Brb going there next time im in japan
>>15411135
>You can't just take pictures of people without their permission, Anon.
You could ask them. Or photo the interior with them being caught in the frame.
>>15411170
I would but I hate Evangelion.
I actually went to Mount Fuji, too. I wanted to go to the Thomas park but didn't have enough time.
>>15411212
It's seriously fucking amazing.
>>15411217
Yeah...but that's kind of rude. Plus I didn't think I'd be getting requests for flesh females on /m/, I thought we only liked clang clang clang.
>>15411229
>, I thought we only liked clang clang clang.
You forgot newtype girls and female officers
>>15411063
That's adorable.
>>15411058
I'm going this summer but I won't be going to the park this time around since my group of friends won't be going to Kyoto. Did you see anything of the 70s era shows in there like Mazinger, Getter, or Devilman? Anything Digimon related?
I'm going to the Toei studio, dunno if you went there but I hope I can see some neat stuff.
>>15411256
Filthy fucking fleshbag get off my board
>>15411349
They were really nice; it was like 2000 yen to get a photo and I really wanted to go but I didn't want to hold up a kid getting theirs done. Plus I haven't actually seen the newest Sentai yet. But the stage show is fucking great, they literally have them jumping from the fucking walls onto the stage.
>>15411351
They had some memorabilia for Mazinger, Devilman and Digimon including some animation cels and movie posters but nothing really you couldn't see anywhere else. A little disappointing, admittedly, but I think they have a curator who decides what they do with space and how they limit it. Absolutely no Getter. I was personally looking for some Harlock stuff since I'd watched the whole series before going but all I found were a couple of posters for the new one and Galaxy Express.
As far as I know the Toei Studio itself isn't very open to the public but I'm probably wrong, I'd love to find out otherwise. I went to the park because that's specifically where they put the old tokusatsu suits, and I wanted to see some live stage shows.
>A lot of females in Gundam Cafes
w-what
why
do women actually like gundam?
Is it okay to hope for a gunpla building girlfriend?
>>15412597
the guys will be bringing their girlfriends
>>15410980
"and I say to you who are true believers turn your gunpla towards the direction of Odaiba. For wherever you are, Ban Dai owns the east and the west production rights for Gundam model kits. There will be those who will sawy you towards Bandi and Daban but Ban Dai has put a financial seal on their wallets and cannot afford superior plastic engineering".
-The Daible, Book 1, chapter five book 3
>>15412597
Well we already know SEED is a big hit among fujoshi.
I don't think they really go as far as building kits, although I did see some gushing over some of the Unicorn suits.
>>15412613
Ironically enough I didn't see a single guy with a girl besides myself and the guy in the hat in the OP image (they left before they even got in because the wait was too long). The rest were either a small group of dudes, parent and child, or 2-3 women.
>>15412597
Fujos exist and they love Gundam
