I kinda do a middle ground with a soft j sound. After watching Mazinkaiser and Shin Mazinger, I can't stop saying Majinga ZETTO.

If I'm talking to people and trying to tone down how big of a gaylord I sound like, I just say Mazinger with a Z and a hard er at the end.

Mazinger Z is the official title even though it's not what the kata says

It's the same with Getter Robo. When Dynamic Pro romanises their kata, it always ends up being Getter Robot, with a t at the end.

Personally, I prefer majin because it means a Demon God. One of the Mazinkaiser manga also uses the kanji characters for majin which I think is far cooler than simple kata.

Getter I only call Getter, never Getta. I never call it Getter Robot though because that sounds fucking retarded and I feel it's a decision by whoever translates it. If it was meant to be robot rather than robo they would call it roboto in the title, which they don't.
