Every turn a few of your guys get hit with Dainsleifs for something between half and three-quarters of their health. Kimaris Vidar probably acts as the final boss by proxy. After you beat Kimaris there'll be an event where Gaelio and McGillis retreat to go have their final duel as an event. Meanwhile the enemies from some other show pop up and you and Rustal stop fighting in order to deal with them. Then, I dunno, Lacus gives a speech or something that gets everyone to calm down. Gaelio and Julietta join your team afterward as liaisons from Gjallahorn. McGillis dies and Gaelio gets his upgrades unless you did a secret condition so they kiss and make up instead.

The ban isn't actually on moral grounds, it's because Dainsleifs are precision weapons with immense destructive power that are nearly impossible to detect or stop. Those last two properties in particular mean they're much more dangerous to an entrenched power, which is Gjallahorn itself. Any lone terrorist with an MS and a Dainsleif launcher could do immense damage before being taken out. It's in Gala's best interests to make sure they're considered a taboo weapon.

IBO was terrible, all its setting tech was terrible nonsense and its protagonists were pretty much unlikable murderhobos.

This seems like the best possible ending, and now the universe can be shelved and never brought up again.

Tekkadan's last stage will play out like any other base defense stage but with a timer. Once the turns are up the Barrage will happen and depending on what you've done up until that point you may save the units.

It's also quite likely that someone will stop the barrage using magical bullshit. Kira shooting them all down or an original teleporting them away.

The mission set up it's self is easy and Rustal becomes a bad guy you have to stop as he's using illegal weaponry. That keeps him the bad guy no matter what in the eyes of the heroes.

Story diverges based on whether or not you've done (ARBITRARY CRITERIA) for (ARBITRARY SHOW WITH CONSPIRACY STORY), which effects whether Rustal's media blackout remains as normal or if someone leaks the news about the slaughter, attempted or otherwise. Leak end forces Gjallarhorn to stand down entirely, pilots and machines deployed can still be recovered, otherwise it's a EVERYONE DIES permadeath scenario if you didn't have the dainslefs stopped.

Z2's cast was too crowded for them to give you any secrets recruitables. The more recent V allows you to recruit Jerid, Yazan and Full Frontal. Gali and Julietta have pretty good chance of being recruitable providing the cast list isn't bloated.
