In seriousness, I have a couple suggestions depending on who you may feel like being to earn points with the Anonymous crowd on an East Indian spice trading community.

Begin with either 0079 (movies or TV, your choice, just make sure you watch the TV at SOME point) or Victory, Wing, SEED, or 00.

0079 is the seminal work. If you like it, you may want more and you can watch Zeta, then watch ZZ (or skip it if you're a memelord), then cap it off with CCA. From there you can watch the OVAs or keep plugging with the rest of Tomino's contributions.

If you chose to start with Victory it's far enough removed from basically every series preceding it that you won't be super lost since it's more or less a standalone work. If you like it and want more, you can always go back and "learn the history" of Victory by starting with 0079. If I'm trying to get someone I know personally into Gundam, I'll use this. It's dated, but not too dated. It has some really top notch action sequences, and maybe the most consistently creative mobile suit tactics in the franchise. It is a bit of a downer, but it has that nice melancholy this board seems to have a taste for. Also, despite his age, Uso is really a pretty spectacular fictional kid.

Alternatively, begin with Wing because it's Wing and it's babby's first Gendoom. And Heavy Arms. And Leo. And the Elevated Pigeon.

SEED is not looked upon kindly on this board outside of (some) of its robot designs, but it's "babby's younger sibling's first Gondim".

And lastly, 00 so you can get in an endless pissing match with SEEDfags, and because you like to go fast (also see F91).
