>ITT: /m/ series that /m/ hardly ever talks about
What's that one show/manga/game you like that no one else wants to talk about?
Great Dangaioh
Daimidaler.
Asura Cryin'. Most of the discussion that does get through the cracks is how no one understood what was going on in itand how the entire plot could have been avoided if the MC banged the demon girl early on.
D-1 Devastator.
>ITT: /m/ series that /m/ hardly ever talks about
That'd be like 95% of them.
Super Robot Red Baron. It doesn't help that the episodes and DVD rips were taken down from both Youtube and Mega.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
/a/ talks about this from time to time, but /m/ doesn't. I understand why, what with it basically being the antithesis of things such as Gundam, but still...

Zeta
Scrapped Princess comes up very occasionally and I wish there was more of it. Not necessarily to discuss the show, but because I want there to be more in the same vein. I really like its fantasy/tech/post-apocalypse combination setting,
>>15356794
That really is the standout element of the show, isn't it? Well, that andmoving the sun.
>>15356814
I actually liked the weird crucifix imagery and Yu-Gi-Oh before Yu-Gi-Oh and Eva before Eva thing. It had an interesting setting, too, and seeing the mass-produced army Orgun's being not-useless was nice.
>>15356796
>I understand why
I don't think you do. It's a show about a band camp that has some mechs show up in the last episode. I has nothing to do with the show not being gundam. Tangentially /m/ stuff just doesn't get a lot of discussion around here.
Case in point: Wizard Barristers.
How much do we d
>>15356860
>Show up in the last episode
How much of the show did you watch?
>>15356860
>A show about a mech crew isn't /m/
huh
>>15356693
>>15356873
It is a show about music. The spider tanks are incidental. That's the point. It's not about the war itself, the war is a backdrop. Of course your comfy show about music, with only a handful of mecha scenes isn't going to get a lot of discussion on this board.
>isn't /m
I not once said that. I said tangentially /m/ stuff doesn't get as much discussion. I could have used a dozen other reasons (the character designers, /m/'s irrational hatred of moe, the slife of life elements, etc) Patlabor 3rd movie is a mecha show. How much do we discuss that? Or again, Wizard Banisters? Or Chrome Shell Regios? Or whatever.
I understand this a thread about shows /m/ doesn't talk about a lot. I just think it's stupid to say
>/m/ didn't like it cuz it wasn't like Gundam
when there are dozens of reasons why a show like this didn't a get ton of discussion. Shows with a lot more straight up /m/ content like Viper's Creed get ignored too.
It wasn't THAT bad
>>15356796
To be honest the show styles itself as some cute girl in military doing k-on in apost apocalypticworld with left over technology. And SoL shows with girl doing daily routines in a small military camp is something well suited for /a/. To be fair, Spider tank did got some mention on /m/ in yesteryears
.
>>15357021
>/m/'s irrational hatred of moe
Bastards.
Probably because the OVA isn't standalone at all and the original VNs aren't translated
We get threads every once in a blue moon but the internet seems to largely ignore Heroic Age. I understand the timing was "unfortunate" but really it's got everything a show needs to be popular. Cool space battles, monsters, insane power level bullshit, big tits, enough bro elements to egg on certain audiences, Aneesha's ass. But completely bupkiss. I think even Jeeg got more attention.
shame. I really liked it.
>>15356782
My nigga, does that have subs even?
>>15359502
Not as far as I know. In case anyone's looking for a project

>Had the misfortune of airing the same season as TTGL and Geass R2
You like space opera and suffering?
>>15356693
>Gunparade March
As close as we will ever get to Muv-Luv anime.
>>15356748
BUt that's a good show
>>15359814
I liked this a lot more than i should have
>>15359945
the muvluv games are translated at least, but gunparade march isn't.
>>15359814
Definitely most underrated anime.
>>15359496
Hiraiface.
Venus Project Climax needed more love
>>15356693
Shit, I cried with that one, one of the few deads in anime that actually made me feel bad.
Don't know how it feels for people that knows about the source material, but to me it took me off guard
>>15361968
Pretty sure the reason /m/ doesn't talk about Terra-Formars is because it's largely unmitigated dogshit. Just a hunch.
>>15361968
I still have that in my to do list, dropped cause the terribly censorship and never picked up again
>>15362129
Have you even read the manga, or watched the anime or are you just going off what other people have said?
>>15362148
The anime is decent enough, but the manga is better. The OVA is the best thing, though.
Really wish S3 had been different
>>15359603
Orguss is pretty much the polar opposite of Macross in terms of production; brilliant idea and fascinating setting, but with such lackluster execution that's it becomes entirely too difficult to appreciate its innovative aspects.
Always wondered why /m/ never talks about World Trigger
>>15361862
You know what I like Hirai. When he's not stuck on seed, dude's alright.
>>15362407
Yeah, his work was decent enough in Heroic Age.
>>15362379
Is it even /m/? I've never seen it, but I thought it was a super power shonen thing.
One of Jun Kawagoe's series before he did Koutetsushin Jeeg.
It was alright, but could have been way better if they had a second season.

>>15362503
Ryvius and Scryed where decent too. MJP especially stands out as his better example too
>>15362527
Most enemies are giant robomonsters (except the commanders that are humanoids), and they don't have powers but a tech system that allows them to henshin and equip weapons.
Its a pure sci-fi work with lot of /m/ going on.
>>15362379
>>15362680
I tried watching a bit of it a long time ago and it sort of suffers from the typical modern shonen anime problem.
All the characters anyone likes don't appear enough
>>15362691
The redeeming cuality of this particular shonen is that all battles are won through actual tactics and teamwork. Also, it has a huge cast of secondary characters that actually matters.
In all the big battles all the secondary characters have important roles, to the point it was secondary characters who defeated most enemies.
>>15362714
I may sit down with it and give it another shot someday but I don't really have time for a long form show like that right now.
Is the anime still airing? Did it get an ending?
>>15356796
I'm still mad that one Kanata figure got cancelled
>>15362726
>Is the anime still airing?
No, it finished 70 episodes or so
>Did it get an ending?
No, it ends after one battle, the manga continues, but not much further than the anime left, because the authour got sick and manga is on hiatus right now. SO the anime pretty much covers almost all the manga.
Demonbane, it really sucks that whenever /m/ does talk about it they bash it because it has lolis and Demonbane is extremely strong. I'm not talking about the Anime though, the Anime is shit. I'm talking about the VN. Being a huge lovecraft fan it's no wonder why I love Demonbane so much. I just want other people to stop seeing demonbane as just an overpowered mecha.
It'll never happen though because
>"D-D-Demonbane is o-overpowered! that must mean it's just lovecraft fanfiction!"
I love and hate you guys.
>>15360709
Go fuck yourself
Roujin-ZD4 Princess
>>15361968
Eh, /a/ used to be crazy about it. At least you've got that.
