Yeah, thinking back I think the entire reason this happened is that Dav Pilkey smoked too much weed one day and watched some Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot, then thought "Y'know what this needs? MICE."

Huh, I've known about this for a while, but the similarities to Giant Robo never struck me.

That being said, Mighty Robot is okay but not stellar. Pilkey's got a pretty good sense of humaor, and though my memory of the books might be failing me, the Mighty Robot books struck me as having a bit less of the wit of Pilkey's other work and they were much more straightforward. Still fun, though!

While we're on this subject I'd like to say that the Turbo Toilet 2000 is pretty cool for what is essentially a giant mecha-toilet
