I'm enjoying Jungle Fury, I think people didn't watched this one because they abandoned ship with Overdrive.

The best part of the film I would have to say is the first act of the film, and the weakest part of this “Power Rangers” film would indeed be the “Power Rangers” aspect.

When the film itself focused on the rangers as characters, I found that it was decent. Which isn’t much to say as some characters were more highly developed more than others. The characters like Jason and Kimberly were the weakest, while Billy’s was the strongest. While Zac and Trini both had some good moments, they were good, but ultimately, Trini just felt like she was just standing around most of the time – at least for Zac, he was the thrill seeker. The campfire scene in the film was probably the strongest in the film.

Just saw the movie. Honestly, I fucking loved it.

So, I watched MMPR as a kid and caught random episodes of later seasons. I just watched the movie and I didn't think it was amazing or anything, but I really liked it.

Which Power Rangers show does the best in terms of characterization?

Man, the movie didn't work even as a Power Rangers movie. The morphed and mecha fight scenes were shot horribly and you couldn't see a thing, the Megazord fight was basically as dynamic as one in the show, it is almost if nobody had the creativity to put an actual movie budget to use. Which is a pity because the cast was pretty enjoyable.

I honestly liked the cast interacting with each other, they really felt like they became true companions and each was likeable in their own way (billy the best and I hope his actor finds things to do). Alpha 5 was adorable and Cranston and Banks did their roles well.

To me the problems really only begin when it actually tries to be Power Rangers. You have the freedom to do all kinds of awesome stuff the series doesn't get to do and you deliver this:

Time Force and RPM for sure.
Lost Galaxy can be hit or miss.
Wild Force has some great moments, but it can also sometimes be REALLY boring.
Depending on your taste in comedy - Ninja Storm. It's great, but Luthor's being comedy-heavy villain can damage your enjoyment.
SPD has a great cast and a pretty epic viilain faction. Their sixth is terrible.
Mystic Force jumps from great to awful. It has a pretty terrible red, but other Rangers can be fun. Villains are meh.
Avoid Operation Overdrive. It's bad. Red and his actor are pretty good, but everything else sucks. Aniniversary team up is entertaining though. Watch it.
Jungle Fury struggles to find itself. It has the best mentor and leads are all good, but their characters are uneven.
RPM is great. Has a great cast, great writing, entertaining comedy. Also, it looks great.
Samurai is...kinda bad. It's not the worst, but it follows sentai too much. While completely rewriting its red's character.
Don't watch Megaforce. It's awful. It's the worst. Which is a shame because it's actors are great. Like, look up their interviews on conventions.
Dino Charge is fun, but not great.

As someone who only ever watched up until early Zeo, I'm wondering if Dino Charge is worth watching. That low-budget E.T. monk and how they characterized the Kyoryuger villains was a little off-putting in the first episode, so I turned it off maybe halfway into the first episode to swap to Dino Thunder instead and have been enjoying it.

Thing is that Zeo would actually make a perfect bridge to space shenanigans considering that the Machine Empire is housed on the moon and is a multiplanetary threat. That and it avoids a series that's been generally panned among the fanbase.

Samurai is like the live action equivalent of a 4kids dub. Same basic outline but Americanized with poor acting and toned down plot.

So if you want to see more of what you saw on the movie and probably what they'll use on the next ones, see those.

All the other season are standalone on their on, with the exception that some have a special episode that features the previous rangers. Those episodes have no implications on the plot at all.

Overall there are better seasons thatn the others, mostly will recomend Time Force, SPD and RPM, with the occasional Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder appearing on the list.

I don't know, one thing that makes RPM so good is the deconstruct of well known tropes already in the power rangers franchise. To really enjoy and get RPM you should've watched at least one or two seasons.
