^This is basically Zeta in nutshell.

Zeta goes through cycles of over hyping and hating. The first time I saw it I didn't like anyone besides Quatro and Emma, and the end made me rage. Then ZZ made me realize it did have a few good things and characters did actually develop, mainly because ZZ ruins it.
After a few months or a year you start looking fondly at it all. You can laugh remembering how many slaps Kamille gets (there's a YouTube compilación, it's like 7 minutes of slaps) and the end if SM tying back to Z made me laugh and feel shivers even when I knew how pathetic the Titans and Haman ebd up being.
More than any show, in the long run, it feels like Gundam canon and world building. No show after it felt so free to mess with the UC.

Personally I hate how characters in various media have plot armor so thick that when a single one dies it's a monumental occassion. Especially when the character in question doesn't inspire sympathy.

I remember him being nice in comparison to Amuro and Camile. Unlike the other two, he starts off having the capacity to form bonds with others and care for more than just himself. Also he doesn't have a MS-related theoretical education. He would had made a great underdog if he weren't a jedi.
So power and stress got to his head at some point. His phase was milder than the other two, he snapped out of it quickly and he became a much more world-conscious guy after it.
