EoE iss a good film, but unfortunately animated works simply can't be considered "Kino" (colloquialism for the translation of Aбcoлютнaя кинeтикa, or Absolute Kinography). Vertov was very specific in what he had in mind, and oddly enough that his vision has a lot in common with documentary filmmaking, but his ideas were a little closer to the "Impressionist" movement in painting. That's an oversimplification due to the nature of everything that goes into filmcraft.

There was a huge emphasis on visual style over narrative weight (some might argue that EoE is kino because of this). That said, animated works can't take full advantage of all of the visual nuances a camera shooting real life can.
It's not to say that animated works can't have an equivalent to "kino", but they just can't be it.

I've finally brought my Self to watch it and I'm currently at ep 14. It's really not as good as I heard. It was.
The "mecha" designs are really bad.

Well,I liked the jet alone and it doesn't help that it only appeared in one episode. It kinda remind me of Boss Borot for whatever reason.
And I think the head is the only interesting part about the Evas. But that's just my opinion.
