Watch the original where there's only one idol who isn't fetishised to be an otaku dream girl, and no magic whatsoever.

Also there's plus too, and 7 is the only one where I've like magic music.

I also didn't think there would be such a heavy emphasis on music. Im not upset about it though, I actually really like the jpop here, from Minmay to Walkure. What did upset me however was the fact that the human/zentradi conflict was one that only lasted for one show. I came into Macross thinking the series was about an ongoing struggle to befriend the giants and destroy those who only want war. No villain post SDF has impressed me much as the zentradi. What a fucking waste.
