I like Chitose fine as a character, but I agree with this. Souji may be ex-military, emphasis on EX, but his current personality and fighting style suit GranVang more than VangRex, to say nothing of the fact that Nine builds GranVang in the style of her ideal man (the Braves) means that it makes more sense for her to give that to Souji, who she says she wouldn't mind marrying. Thematically, it just works for him.

Meanwhile, Chitose is a current member of the military who wants to prove herself, and who is described as a sharpshooter who wants to prove she's not just a useless rookie. Giving her the machine that feels more like a completed version of the original (which she used to prove she has real potential and talent) makes more sense for her story arc.

My first Super Robot Wars. I must say that it pretty fun. Nothing really strategic like the old Fire Emblem, but it's really a nice fanservice game. That scene with Setsuna and Tieria after being teleported in the wrong dimension.

Looking at JP wikis they're saying that you have to use Yamato's Wave Motion Cannon MAP on stage 47 as one of the requirements. Fuck that bullshit I just had Zero destroying everything.

If I missed it guess I'll just finish this playthrough and come back in a couple of months. Way too much other stuff out now to go back for a second playthrough right away.

That's something that pisses me off about og, they simply love their reality altering animations where the universe bends backwards to the will of the pilots and indoor facilities and underwater are transformed into mountains or the space. A funny one is how if you used the battle viewer of OG gaiden, dikastes always made the victim break through the white star with its ultimate star, current location be damned.

Regular SRW are more tame about that and usually don't change scenary for their attacks with some exceptions like the tuatha de danaan materializing an ocean in the stars, a star ocean if you might say it.

If Z ever had a cohesive aesthetic it was to try and make everything be as "realistic" as possible, with the different animations for land and air, all the zooming in and out and how rarely they ever went into a special background for attacks. That was neat.

I find it very lazy. They can't bother to make variable animations according to the environment and thus they go the ridiculous way of teleporting everybody to a stock barren wasteland/mountains/etc for their attacks.

Even Z3 did it better. At least ALL attacks changed according if it was a single target or multi targets and even had melee attacks having ALLs. OG's excuse of melee ALLs were punchbeams from the punchdimension and metal balls from the same punchdimension
