Why is that ? The only interesting episode out of 20+ is the one where the bad guys implant bombs into unsuspecting civilians and then proceed to blow them up in crowds.
It ain't enough to make the show good. Especially when the first half is stupid even for a 5 year old child, and the the other half is just meandering shit.
Tomino has done a lot of shows, Zambot isn't one of his best. To call it even mediocre is too good.

Zambot was fine, just fine. Butcher does animes like that today and every single one of them is instantly "the anime of the season".
Zambot generally works as Tomino's first "kill them all" ride. Characters are nice. Zambot's design is good.
Nothing spectacular, but enjoyable at least.

Daitarn is one of his best works and truly a classic. I'd say Xabungle somewhere there too, but I always though there were a bit too many fillers in Xabungle to truly made it a classic. I liked the hell out of this series, but it didn't need to be this long.

Brain Powered is garbage, and if OP meant Turn A as worst Tomino's work, I envy the purity of his mind.
