Does /m/ like Rune Masquer? It's to Izubuchi what FSS is to Nagano, except it died quickly.

I sure do! I first heard about it on /m/ and subsequently made it a point to bring it up whenever I get the chance. The mech designs look so cool, I really do wish this had taken off.

To this day I still can't find all the scans to the manga. It's even more obscure than Dragon's Heaven, which is saying something.

It is to Panzer World Galient as FSS was to L-Gaim, right? Cause I swear all the designs have serious overlap.

It never even got finished properly, either, although Tokuma Shoten supposedly has it resumed.

Is that even a robot?

I have this resin model. It is fucking gorgeous, I havnt built it yet because resin kits are tricky compared to Bandai gunpla. Hopefully i can get me modeling skills strong enough this summer to start working on this kit .

Oh yeah, its designs are definitely meant to parallel Galient's.

Technically it's a god, but in the Rune Masquer universe the gods are reversed-engineered into certain mecha piloted by humans. In a sense it's more like Eva than a normal mecha.

To my understanding Izubuchi drew only one volume in the late 90s and later split it up into three separate ones in 2009 and colored them in. I've heard a lot of people complain about the amateur digital coloring and poor scanning compared to the original, so I would love to hunt down an original.
The original had a few color splash pages by hand that are just breathtaking. I guess it just wasn't able to compete with the likes of similar manga at the time like Nausicaa and FSS.

Izubuchi drew the first drafts for the Eva designs right?
