Okay why the fuck no one ever mentions this? It was fucking rad show. If you haven't seen this, you should.
>gritty grunt action
>minimum autism
>cool designs
>great animation and SHADING
>cool opening
>>15252024
>shit plot
>annoying characters
>villains make no sense
>HUMANS ARE BAD M'KAY
>convoluted nonsense ending oversaturated with meaningless symbolism
Can't imagine.
>>15252024
>Okay why the fuck no one ever mentions this?
Because when it aired, Adult Swim was way past /m/'s bedtime.
>>15252044
>all those apply to NGE too
>It's a " let's have a giant orgy in our space station because fuck human values and decency" episode
>>15252126
>implying people here like NGE
Also the whole "humans are bad" thing was more the eco-style "humans are ruining the earth", rather than the "Adams were here first, kill all Lilin" thing.
>>15252214
Considering how fiercely it gets defended around here, I'd say that /m/ has plenty of Eva-fags.
>>15252024
No Patrick, blue is NOT a gender.
>>15252126
Ok but this thread isn't about NGE it's about Blue Gender.
>>15252024
Look, I like Blue Gender, and there are times when the show looks good. But as the show got longer, it started looking worse and worse. The show is a lot of things, but "great animation" isn't one of them.
The first 13 episodes are cool as shit, and I love the OST so god damn much.
But everything else? Pure trash.
>>15252044
>>HUMANS ARE BAD M'KAY
Has there ever been a mecha show where this wasn't the case?
>>15252214
>implying /m/ is one person
>implying people here don't like NGE
go be a contrarian hipster somewhere else
So, I watched this off-and-on when it aired, and I have it downloaded, but I can never get past the initial space bit. The first part of the show is fucking amazing, and then it just loses all momentum for me and I can't seem to finish it.
Any reason why I should really push through to the end?
>>15252596
Actually this one person thing is true. We're in a coma and there's this weird boy fapping near our comatose body.
>>15252635
Solely for the sake of conclusion.
It's a fine show for passing the time and enjoying gore filled fights, but there's nothing else and no undermeaning.
>>15252422
Plenty, newfag.
>>15252635
>Any reason why I should really push through to the end?
No. It just gets worse. I actually like the first half too. You're better off pretending it ends when they get to space.
>>15252024
Gritty grunt action isn't always a good thing, whats with all the vagina dentata?
>>15252024
It's not that great but I still like it.
>>15252024
It's an interesting world and mechs wasted on a garbage plot and uninteresting leads that grate against each other for like 3/4 of the show.
open cockpits though
>>15252278
I sexually identify as a hue! Stop oppressing me, shitlord!
>>15254002
Brazilian is not a gender either.
'Least the mechs looked pretty cool
>>15252024
I really enjoyed it when I first found some dvd's in a shitty goth shop, started buying them up once a week with my paychecks at the time. I think I had episodes up until they are about to launch back down to earth. I agree the momentum was slipping when they got up to space, but I was hoping it would pick back up when they go back down to Earth. Good for mindless gore as well.
I love it. Haven't watched it in awhile, might do it this summer.
im sorry dude, your gender is WHAT color?
>>15252024
That opening is ridiculously good, shame the rest of the show couldn't emulate that quality.
Moreover I wish so, so much that the english version of the theme song was longer...like 5 mins!

>>15252024
Once they go into space the show goes from fun schlock to actual schlock, and then the ending is just abysmal
I still enjoyed it.
For a genius scientist, he kind of pretty shitty leader, putting all those well-trained soldiers in single place, coop-up with nothing to do or a purpose. Finally, when those soldiers can't take it anymore, guess who the first person they going to ventilate.
>>15254000
>open cockpits though
seriously. All these assholes deserve to die.
>>15252024
Oh yeah, I remember this. 5 characters died in a low speed car crash because they forgot to put on their seatbelts.
>>15253216
>couldn't name even one.
>>15252107
I only started watching anime seriously like 3 years ago but I'm going through the best of anime history thanks to bakaBT but I guess that's not something most people do.
>>15254749
I liked their skull helmets.
>>15262151
gurren lagann
>>15265819
Well it's not like the beastpeople were objectively wrong in wanting to quell humans so the antispirals didn't eat them.

THE ONLY GOOD BUG IS A DEAD BUG

Macross?
