Besides anime soundtracks, what is the most /m/ music you enjoy?

I love the albume "Time" by Electric Light Orchestra, I can't get enough of the 80s pop feel and the wacky science fiction scenarios, hell, half the album is the protagonist getting seduced by and fucking a sexbot.

Neil Sedaka too.

Blue Oyster Cult is great stuff.

As for me, the music I usually listen to rarely touches on /m/ topics, but game soundtracks for stuff like wipeout or Ace Combat is /m/ i guess.

That's only one song.
The album was about him trying to get back to 1981 and his girlfriend and coping with the future shock he has while living in the future.

"Empty Heart" would fit right in a one-shot 80s OVA like Legaciam, and "Victims of Circumstance" always reminds me of Men of Destiny. Of course, Lion also recorded an actual /m/-related song.

I could go without the normalfags and otacool poser shitheads myself. Though future funk is less suspect to that than vaporwave. At any rate, only those who actually enjoy it will continue listening to it, thankfully. Especially if you're listening to lofi and some faggot just "has" to namedrop Nujabes. Hawkwind is pretty /m/ sometimes, especially with stuff like Sonic Attack. Here's probably their most famous material:

Very nice taste. The Secret Arcana version of Non Paradisi was something else. Amy's Wager and Voces were the icing on that cake.
>>
>>15219358
What kind of 80s music is this stuff trying to emulate? The closest and most obvious answer would be the Jan Hammer Miami Vice tracks, but they don't even really sound like that.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2jxSZlFQ28
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnjiv7aA4Uw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqIcv-mIOao
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GRlI_feGIo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwJL-GISU3k

These tracks are much more diverse, there's not as much emphasis on heavy bass, there's a wide variety of moods and tempos, and they sound much less harsh.

This new synthwave sounds like some kind of exaggerated parody, composed by people that only see 80s music as a goof, rather than people really familiar with synthesizer music.
>>
>>15219462
>exaggerated parody
Not exactly wrong, especially with GoST, that's kind of the point of slasherwave and darksynth in general; to be evocative of slasher flicks of the 80's. Another great example of slasherwave is Cluster Buster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkmYskIoxYU

Babby's first synthwave artist, Perturbator, also does some really good dark synth stuff. Technically slasherwave is almost closer to witch house than it is synth.
>>
>>15219462
Synthwave is meant to emulate the sounds and moods people remember from a lot of 80s media, not perfectly replicate actual 80s music.

It's generally futuristic, cyberpunk sorta music with some 80s influence, ranging from dark and brooding music fitting of an action movie like most of the stuff I posted, to relaxing stuff like a lot of Waveshaper's music, to the worst the genre has to offer, pure, unadulterated nostalgia bait filled with movie dialogue and old video game sounds.

>>15219468
>Babby's first synthwave artist, Perturbator
I'd say power glove probably introduced the genre to more people, though Perturbater is definitely up there.
