IBO and SEED/Destiny all have their own flaws.

Seed becomes nothing but beamspam fights near its last parts, with fights made out of animated scenes that you've already seen in three or four previous fights before just with a different mech pasted in, Destiny also had its fair share of recap episodes and even more stock footage.

A big cast of unlikeable characters.

IBO has weak characters for a fair few of the cast as in, they don't seem very fleshed out, and sure some of the fights could be animated better, but it hasn't had to resort to full on recap episodes or over reliance on stock footage fights yet so its already doing better there.

IBO has its dull moments, but I'd happily take any of those of Kira "he who can do no wrong" Yamato spouting ideals and disabling every mech in seconds with no effort.

I think the problem with Kira is that he really DOESN'T spout any ideals. He just screams "STOP FIGHTING" and then disables MS. And whatever ideals he does gain, he gets from parroting Lacus. It really goes to show how bland as fuck he was as a protagonist.

At least Mikazuki isn't invincible and is slowly dying from releasing Barbie's limiter so much. Anytime Kira was about to be "corrected" he judo flips a superior officer and goes about his business.
