So it looks like the Buff Clan will be up to bat. The Martians are fucked. Then humanity is fucked. Then Ideon will show up to save humanity and from what I've heard/seen so far of Ideon, the universe will then probably be fucked.

...it's a cross counter that destroys both robots at once, so I'm going to assume either the slightly nerfed 3 Vector version of Logos or the Vector-Go version of Aquarion San is allowable.

Either is pretty fucking strong so that's not so bad.

They are still very nimble and can melt your robot,especially if it`s a smaller one. The torpedo ram won,because of its' sheer bulk and the fact that it was in water,thus making the heat rays less effective. And even if the cannons can do damage,that doesn`t mean that once faced with another walker,the War Machines won`t actually fare better,seeing as it`s possible that they were designed to combat walkers to begin with.

Highly debatable.
Those rays were destroying early 1900's tech. Mobile Suits are a bit different. Any of the 00 or Wing suits, for example, can survive re-entry heat. The IBO suits would probably be totally immune to the martian heat ray considering how easily they tanked Hashmal's beam weapon. Then there are special defenses like GP02's cooling shield which is made to withstand the heat and blast wave of an atmospheric nuclear detonation.

Honestly the 1953 would be a lot more of a fight since they demonstrated immunity to atomic weapons, but then again I don't recall anyone actually damaging any of the Tripods in the book either...

They weren't that nimble. Artillerymen could bring them down just by fucking up a leg. What let them steamroll were numbers and the fact that state-of-the-art land weaponry at the turn of the century was immobile artillery emplacements, and basically only having one solid functional warship, which actually fucked shit up before they all teamed up and microwaved it to death. They lack sophisticated targeting equipment; the Fighting Machines are described to be purpose-built exoskeletons. They're aiming their heat rays by hand. Any mecha capable of faster than horse/human speeds and/or flight is going to skullfuck them. Even the very few Flying Machines would be toast. As another anon said, as long as you have a sealed cockpit to avoid getting tagged by the Black Smoke you'll clear out all of London before dinner.

Nah, they were more or less the shock-troop suits. The narrator made his way down to one of their construction/staging camps for a time and ran into a some construction suits and one of the spider/farming/terraforming suits. It's actually where he makes the observation calling them suits, or "hats" as the Martians were pretty much just heads/brains with vestigial limbs. He may have seen one of the flying ones, but he mostly heard of it, I think from the Artilleryman or the Parson. They only busted out the flying machine once it was safe with all humans in the area killed or captured.

The presence of weapons does not automatically mean they were built for war and the clear lack of armor or shielding pokes holes in that idea as well. They're war machines from the narrator's perspective, but the artilleryman states outright that what the Martians are doing is not war at all but pest control. Couple that with taking heavy damage from 19th century artillery, and it's far more likely that the tripods are pest control machines.

I don't know anon, I'll give it my best shot, but the Kämpfer did get taken out by a friggin wrist machine gun. Also nothing but projectile and explosive weapons and no fancy beams except the sabers.

Then again, it's higly maneuverable and in the right hands can probably kick some martian ass.
