Personally I think all the important characters give very good performances, the relatively goofy voice acting from side characters really doesn't bother me. I like watching dubs because it allows me to focus a lot more on what's happening visually and for a show like Eva I really prefer it.

The only VAs who came back to dub the Rebuilds were Shinji, Asuka, and Misato. Everyone else was replaced and it was honestly for the better for the vast majority of the cast.

It's also better for me because Misato's dub voice does good things to me.

I don't know about you guys but I'll always have a soft spot for the original Giant Robo Dub. Particularly the chunk of episodes with Joshua Seth voicing Daisaku. It's goofy, it's incredibly over the top, the accents are all kinds of cheesy, the profanity can feel forced, but I really think it fits the series perfectly

Anyone interested in his dub voice actor should check out Trevor Devall's website where he has a podcast with Mark Oliver. Mark Oliver found that character incredibly therapeutic to voice in the final few episodes. And he listened to Hitler speeches in the morning before going to work on those episodes. Found the whole experience fascinating.
