Mobile Suit Gundam (1979 series)
Almost all the shows are good. Every series has someone who hates it, and everyone has a series or three that they hate. This thread will probably have every series mentioned as "watch this" and "don't watch that, it's shit".

As far as 3d animation, I think only Igloo, Origin, and parts of Unicorn. Some shows use cgi for ships but not mobile suits.

Anyway, MSG has the best story of all of them, but it has 1979 animation which some people can't get past. 00 is probably the best blend of animation and story quality. If you like over-the-top kung fu action like people catching bullets with their hands, super attacks powered by love, and fighting game storylines, G Gundam is excellent though it's completely different from everything else in Gundam.
